Dead Relative Scam: Email Scams for “Free Money”

Dead Relative Scam Email Scams for Free Money

The email scams are getting more and more. Here’s one recent one I got through a Facebook message.

Scammers will try to do everything to make their letter seem authentic and real. They will even go so far as acknowledging that there are many scams online. Don’t buy this!

If you respond, they will probably start asking for more information, like your full name, bank account and more, so that they can wire the money to you. Also, they may even ask for some money, that they will call fees to ship the supposed millions to you. Again, all scams!

There is no such thing as “free money” or “easy money.” Moreover, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is!

Get out there and EARN your keep!

Here’s the exact message I got recently about me new inheritance from a rich relative who did not write a will. Yeah right!

Hello,

Sorry for my contacting you through this medium as I know that the Internet have been greatly abused and so many scams been perpetrated through it nowadays but it still remains the safest means of passing confidential information.

I am Barrister Robert De Banzie, a UK based attorney and a personal attorney to a great industrialist who passed away without neither written nor oral WILL, which is the reason why I am contacting you because the deceased person has same last name as you.

I want to seize this opportunity to seek your assistance to present you as the Next of Kin to my late client so that his estate will be released to us and will be shared according to a mutual percentage.

Your urgent response is anticipated.

Regards,

Robert De Banzie, Esq.,
