Dayanara Torres Sizzles as She Wins in a Dance Competition

Dayanara Torres

Despite being Puerto Rican, Dayanara Torres was warmly welcomed in the Philippines as the Dancing Queen. She’s still got it as the former winner of the Miss Universe pageant was crowned the winner in Mira Quien Baila (Look, Who’s Dancing), a Spanish-language dance competition aired in the United States!

Torres won against finalist Ana Patricia and she will take home $50,000 (roughly P2,516,750), which she will donate to her chosen charity, San Jorge Children’s Foundation in Puerto Rico.

Torres rose to worldwide fame when she was crowned Miss Universe 1993 in Mexico City, Mexico. She created the Dayanara Torres Foundation, which focused on providing scholarships to underprivileged kids in Puerto Rico and the Philippines.

After the pageant, she went to the Philippines and stayed here for five years, learning the language and starring in films with Aga Muhlach, Gary Valencianco, and Cesar Montano. She even had a four-year relationship with Muhlach.

Torres was also part of the variety show ASAP, where she earned the title of Dancing Queen.

Earlier this year, she returned to the Philippines as a judge for the Miss Universe 2016 pageant.

Congratulations to Torres for winning Mira Quien Baila!
