Back when I was a chubby little Chinese kid, there were only two things in life apart from candies and toys that made my heart skip a beat: McDonalds and Jollibee. Who am I kidding? Till now, these two fast food giants never fail to put a smile on my face. That’s why from time to time, I make it a point to go through a juice cleansing program. Although their burgers, chicken, and sundaes are amazingly good, one thing that I love munching on at these two fast food chains are their apple pies and peach mango pies. This was until I met Czar Serrano, though, who I strongly believe deserves to be crowned as the Queen of Pies.

The French Apple Pie
I’m sure that I have mentioned this before, but one thing that I love about apple pies is how some of them aren’t overloaded with apples. Instead, the crust makes up the entire pie. So, when I saw Czar’s French Apple Pie, I let out a teeny little cry inside because I couldn’t find my favorite flaky crust!
As soon as I bit into this baby, though, I let out another teeny little squeal because yes, it was that good! The top part of the pie is sweeter than the traditional apple pie, but the apple filling perfectly balances out the sweetness of the crust. Even my Mom, Aku, and my bestie, Fern, went gaga over this baby.
The Pineapple Pie
Although I’m a huge fan of fruits, there are still some fruits that somehow made it to my “No Way” List, such as papayas, watermelons, and yes, pineapples. I am actually not a fan of pineapples at all, so I was a bit hesitant to try out Czar’s Pineapple Pie. Thanks to a push from my mom, though, I gave it a shot anyway.
Boy, did I make the right choice! Czar’s Pineapple Pie has the perfect flaky crust that I usually crave for, and the pineapple filling is just one of a kind. I love how its sweet, but not overpowering. Because of Czar’s Pineapple Pie, I started looking at pineapples in a different light – that’s for sure.
The Peach Mango Pie
When Czar told me that she would be sending over a box of her Peach Mango Pie, I couldn’t contain my excitement. I am a lover of peach mango pies, although I’ve only ever tried the Jollibee ones.
Czar turned a simple joy of mine into a luxurious one. Her take on the peach mango pie is sheer genius! The crust is baked to perfection and I love how the filling is made up of huge chunks of peaches and mangoes. Drool!

The Traditional Apple Pie
When I opened this box and saw the little heart at the center of the pie, I couldn’t bring myself to cut the heart into two, but as soon as I did, I couldn’t stop myself from breaking this beauty into tiny more little slices. It was that good!
They say that a good writer always has the right word to describe the things that has left a huge impact on them, but when a good writer comes face-to-face with a great baker like Czar Serrano, even the best writer will forget all of his adjectives because no words can describe how great Czar’s pies are. And that’s exactly why I think Czar Serrano should be crowned as the Queen of Pies. All of her pies scream about her passion for baking – from her whimsical decorations down to the very last bite.
