It’s a new year but bad elements still prowl around Manila and victimize innocent people. And for 2016, could this be a new modus?
A netizen shared this photo on social media but chose to be anonymous. However, the netizen agreed to share the post to warn other people who may fall victim to this modus. According to the netizen, he parked his car in a popular supermarket to do groceries. After he got in his car to drive home, a man suddenly knocked and told him that he dropped something. The netizen chose to ignore it.
I was on my way home from school but I decided to stop at Puregold San Pedro. I parked the car and went to the nearest ATM to withdraw my earnings and buy something inside Puregold. I went back to the parking area and started the car. It’s quite traffic going out the parking lot and a guy suddenly knocked on my window. He said I dropped something at the back but I didn’t mind him. I drove few meters away and it’s still traffic. Another person knocked on my window and said the same thing but I simply ignored him. As I get back home, I checked my trunk and saw something on the side. I opened it and I was surprised to see coins inside!
It’s a good thing that I didn’t open my window or went out of the car. If that happens, my bag, laptop and money will probably be gone. Or worst, I may be stabbed with a knife. This happened around 6:30 to 6:40pm, January 8, 2016.
The netizen was still thankful and managed to joke that he could use the coins for toll.
