Could There Be a Sequel to “Get Out”?

If you loved the Oscar-winning film Get Out, there might be good news: writer and director Jordan is possibly working on a sequel to the hit film.

Maybe. We’re not sure. But we hope so because we loved the first one.

Get Out tells the story of Chris Washington (Daniel Kaluuya), who discovers a horrific secret when he joins his white girlfriend Rose Armitage’s (Allison Williams) family for a vacation.

The film received commercial and critical success, earning $255 million worldwide (roughly P13 billion) and Rotten Tomatoes saying that it “seamlessly weaves its trenchant social critiques into a brilliantly effective and entertaining horror/comedy thrill ride.”

It also went on to win the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay last month.

The idea of a sequel began when Kanye West posted a photo of his home on Twitter, referencing the Sunken Place featured prominently in the film.

In his tweet, he said, “do[es] this look like the sunken place.”

To which Peele replied, “*Gets inspired *Starts writing ‘Get Out 2.’”

Okay, so the tweet doesn’t necessarily mean anything but we hope the director was inspired enough to actually create a sequel.

Actress Gabourey Sidibe joined the conversation, adding a possible plot point in a possible sequel. She said, “The sunken place has WiFi. We get it.”
