Commuting Woes Lately? Let James Deakin Know

Netizens have been up in arms about LTFRB’s decision to temporarily suspend Uber from service, leaving several of Metro Manila’s ridesharing folk stranded and forced to seek other alternatives.

While we’re happy that another TNVS alternative, Grab, is still in service, majority of the commuting public have reverted to the more conventional routes of public transport such as jeepneys, buses, and regular taxis — which aren’t without fault, as we know.

If you’ve ridden a PUV before, you’ll notice that painted at the back of buses or taxis is the LTFRB hotline, which you can supposedly contact for complaints including but not limited to reckless driving, refusal to convey passenger, forced “dagdag”, rude behavior, among others. Yet if you’ve been keeping tabs on your social media feed, people have been ranting online about how the LTFRB has been unresponsive to this so-called hotline number, leaving several messages “seen-zoned” on their Viber number.

Leave it to James Deakin to air your grievances to the LTFRB. Alongside a screenshot of the LTFRB’s Viber number, the motoring journalist and ridesharing stalwart wrote:

I’m getting a ton of messages from people saying their complaints are being seenzoned on the official Viber number of the LTFRB that is painted on the back of all PUVs.

So as a public service, I’ll pin this post to my wall so you can leave your complaints of taxis/buses/jeeps etc here. At least it’s a centralized spot, right? Maybe eventually we can get our friends from the LTFRB to look at them and have them addressed for you.

So, if you have been refused or overcharged, had to deal with arrogant or unsafe drivers, noticed unroadworthy vehicles or PWD chairs being abused by non PWDs, or basically any violation of your rights as a commuter, please feel free to leave it in the comments box 1f642????
