Color Me, Matrix!

When in Manila, the idea of getting one’s hair colored can be quite daunting, especially for a hair color virgin. Bleach? Ombre? Bayalage? The possibilities are endless, and choosing a color alone can be a veritable nightmare. Plus, there’s the scary possibility that it might not go the way you want it to. Horror stories of dried out hair, bad color and falling hair can make for a scary experience. If we go by the makeover episodes of ANTM, it’s so easy for a bad hairdresser to have you in tears.

Don’t be afraid of the color. Embrace it!

But hair color is your friend! It can give your hair a lot more personality, making it more vibrant and bouncy. But when it’s your first time, it’s best to choose something that looks more subtle and a lot less drying. When you have naturally dark hair, browns and deep blondes turn up more easily than your reds. I was actually surprised that the color stuck to my hair, despite its originally deep black color.

Pick your color.

So my friends and I tried the Matrix line of hair colors when we got to the salon. The colors carry a huge variety, but because we didn’t want to get bleached, we chose warm, red and brown tones to give our hair a more subtle change. The process itself took just an hour –with gorgeous results! Our hair came out soft and smooth, with no fear of dryness. The color is bright and noticeable, but subtle enough that you can wear it to work!

Matrix lives up to it’s potential as the number one salon brand in the US. It took really good care of our virgin hair, and we can’t wait to show it off! When in Manila, don’t be afraid to get a new dash of color!
