It has been a long 52 years since the Mary Poppins first popped into the big screen. The classic Disney movie is about a magical nanny that has come to work for the wealthy and stoic Banks family, to take care of two little kids. The story revolves around the nanny, Mary Poppins, bringing adventure and magic into the lives of the Banks.
Set to be released on December 2018, the comeback of Mary Poppins, titled “Mary Poppins Returns,” will star Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda, star and creator of hit Broadway musical, Hamilton. The movie will be directed by Rob Marshall.
Mary Poppins first came out in 1964, starring the beloved Julie Andrews. A big hit to adults and children alike, the musical movie’s cheery disposition sent its featured songs to popularity. Surely you’ve heard of the song “Spoonful of Sugar”? Yep, that’s from Mary Poppins.
