It has been reported by CNN that as confirmed by Disney, actress Liu Yifei will be taking on the lead role in the live-action film.

The film is set to be premiered in 2019, and is “based on the 1998 animated feature film that grossed more than $300 million worldwide,” according to the same article.
If Liu seems like a familiar face, you may have seen her in ‘The Forbidden Kingdom’ (2008) alongside Jackie Chan, as well as ‘Outcast’ (2014) alongside Nicolas Cage and Hayden Christensen.
