Check Out Wynwyn’s Unique National Costume For Reina Hispanoamericana 2017!

While many of our beauty queens resort to the traditional Filipiniana whenever they represent our country in international pageants during the national costume portion, leave it to Wynwyn Marquez to wear something unique and featuring another facet of Filipino culture, taking from our pre-colonial era!

It’s fitting for Wynwyn to don a costume that is completely out of the ordinary, as the first-ever Philippine representative to the Reina Hispanoamericana 2017. And to be honest, she totally slayed it!

Her Pintados costume was designed by Edwin Uy. On social media, the designer shared that when the Spaniards first came to the Philippines, the first people they came across were the tattooed people of Cebu, whom they called Pintados.
