CIRCUIT BREWFEST’s diverse musical line-up will include:

FLIPPIN SOUL STOMPER

From generations, the Philippines heard over a thousand bands in various genres and styles. Little did people know that most of today’s music was formed through the classier tunes of soul. Envisioned in bringing the masses back to root of modern music, a seven members ensemble from veteran musicians from Put3ska, Tropical Depression, and Juan Pablo Dream, and fresh talents will no doubt play the part. As fans of soul music themselves, the Flippin Soul Stompers was inspired by Otis Redding, James Brown, Curtis Mayfield, The Funk Brothers, Booker T. and the MGs, among others. A fine indication that the band fully expresses the Motown Stax and the other sounds of soul. Surely followers of the scene and new listeners will not be disappointed. Formed in April 2011, the band exemplifies the vision and goals of a soul band and of the Manila Soul Club, the band’s main affiliation. Both believe that by playing music “the original way”, they will trigger a nostalgia the older generation appreciates and misses, and eventually draw the curiosity of today’s generation. Flippin Soul Stompers will definitely spark a movement in reliving swanky soul grooves of the previous times in the Philippines!

THE BRASS MUNKEYS

Known for their lively and bold performances on stage, the band has established a loyal following since its formation in 2002. “Our music has been classified as blues, jump swing even boogie,” shares Jayman Alviar (drums).

Jump swing also called as retro swing refers to the hyper-intense dance style featuring hopping and kicking. It is up-tempo combination of rock, jump blues and swing.

The group cites musical influences such as latin, jazz and swing music from the ’30s to ’50s before evolving into their more adventurous repertoire of original compositions and fun covers of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennet, Bobby Darin, The Brian Setzer Orchestra, Harry Connick Jr., and the Royal Crown Review to name a few.The Brass Munkeys current line up includes Pards (trumpet), Leo Emnil (tenor saxophone) Archie LaCorte (alto sax), William King Ansano (trumpet), Chris Padilla (vocals) Tim Cada (guitars) and Glenn Bondoc (bass).
