Cedric Lee vs Jovito Palparan: Beating Up Celebrities vs Torturing and Killing Activists

 

The following was posted on the Facebook page “AnghitProp”

It states that in the Philippines, it is ok to torture and kill others, as long as you don’t beat up a celebrity. 

This statement and question was raised as comparisons between two fugitives were made. 

On the left side is Cedric Lee, accused of beating up and illegally detaining local celebrity Vhong Navarro. Cedric Lee was arrested within a week of his arrest warrant. 

On the right side is Jovito Palparan, accused of killing and torturing many activists, as well as being a suspect in the case of two missing UP students, who is still at large after two years. 

What are your thoughts on this?

Translation:

In the Philippines, it’s ok to kill and torture, just don’t beat up celebrities.

Good for Vhong Navarro, he can feel justice.

But what about the hundreds of activists who were tortured and killed by Palparan?

What about Karen Empeno and Sherlyn Cadapan?
