When in Manila and a die-hard pro wrestling fan, chances are you can only get your fix through watching wrestling on TV or on YouTube (if you hate the commercials and fast forward through the women’s wrestling matches).

Manila has not had a chance to witness a live wrestling event since 2009 but that will change when WWFX, or the World Wrestling Fan Xperience: Champion Showcase Tour 2012, hits our shores this weekend.

The outfit promises to be the most fan-interactive wrestling promotion this side of the world. One of the ways it plans to prove that is through the WWFX Fan Contest.

The WWFX Fan Contest will give two lucky fans (one male and one female) the chance to be part of the event as either a guest ring announcer for one match, or as a manager, accompanying one of the superstars during his/her match.

To be part of the contest, fans must answer the question, “Who is your favorite Wrestler on WWFX?” and post a picture of themselves holding their ticket to the show and upload it on the show’s like page, https://www.facebook.com/WWFXManila

When WhenInManila.com contributor Stan found out about the contest, he knew he wouldn’t be able to resist the idea of possibly being the guest ring announcer at the event, so he took my pride, swallowed it, and joined the contest.

The WWFX Champion Showcase Tour 2012 is on Saturday, February 4, 7:30 PM, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Among the wrestlers performing live on Saturday are former WWE superstars Carlitos, Chris Master, John Hennigan, Shelton Benjamin, Rhino, MVP, Hurricane Helms, and “Mr. Ass” Billy Gunn.

I feel so blessed when I got the chance to exchange thoughts with its author Kathryn Pua! How nice it is to meet someone who share the same vision as yours. We used to be “lost” souls as well, but due to our yearning for “meaning,”  we bravely chose the path less traveled.  The book came as a result of her intention to share her wisdom and the secrets on how she was able to achieve the happiness she is now enjoying. I’m very impressed with the passion and dedication which she has shown so far and this is one reason why I’m giving my full support to her. I believe that everyone should have a copy of this book!

By the time I got the book, it reminded me of the movie Eat, Pray Love. I knew I just had to reward myself with a good book and a good meal shared with a good friend that moment so I invited my friend Badeth for dinner  at Va Pensiero for they serve authentic and simple Italian style pizzas which I think are closest to what Julia Roberts also enjoyed in the movie. I knew I just had to set the right mood and ambiance while reading it! hihihihi

 rewarding myself with a good book and a good meal shared with a good friend!  

 hmmmmm….. I find it to be very interesting. The book is loaded with a lot of inspiring and motivating words!

 I enjoyed doing the activities which the book asked me to do. It made me realize a lot of things. It made me think about the things which I have been neglecting and depriving myself with.Unlike all regular planners where you’re asked to list down the things we HAVE to do and accomplish, in The Book of Ten, you are given the freedom to just be yourself and write the things we WANT to do!

It is a book that will help you reflect and ponder on the things which really matter to you. The very vital things which you know will complete your existence. It is loaded with activities, ideas and even free space for you to freely write anything and everything!Feel free to write down your dreams, aspirations… the things which will make you happy! Let this book guide you in your journey to live the life which you promised yourself you’d live!

Let me share to you my story….

Years ago, I used to be so pessimistic. I had too many fears and woes. I hated myself so much I couldn’t even take a photo of myself for I  believed I was so ugly. I rejected so many opportunities because I never had any confidence in myself. People looked down on me, I was often ridiculed, criticized and often told that I was never to succeed. The saddest part was… I believed them. Little did I know about this invisible box which I confined myself in for the longest time. It was when I was at my lowest where I finally realized that enough was enough and that I will never allow people to treat me that way ever! Slowly, I struggled to pick up the pieces of that broken me and slowly allowed my wounds to heal. I went on a journey deep deep inside my soul in order for me to be whole again. It really takes a lot of courage to dare know the real you. With a lot of prayers and the support of my family and friends, It didn’t  take too long for me to get back on track. When I was finally able to switch my vibration to a much positive one, unexpected things started to unfold and until now, I’m still at awe with the things I am receiving. It really pays to have faith that all is well and that everything will be for the good. I realized that when you do your best to align yourself to your source and be who you are, all the universe can do is soothe and support you all the way! Everything for me is possible now. My life is so fabulous and ever unfolding!

Years ago, I dreamed of seeing Palawan but since I couldn’t really afford to travel, I never seriously planned to go and if I would, I’d just book the cheapest ticket, sleep at the cheapest inn and take the cheapest tour. Roughly 2 months ago while my  partner Frank and I were chatting during one of our out if town trips, I remember telling him that Palawan would be a nice destination to go to next. We really had no plans then for it was just a casual talk. Perhaps we have unconsciously placed an order to the universe and miraculously, after only 1 day, I received a call that we were to be sent to Palawan and stay at a premiere resort….

It is never too late my friend! Now is the perfect time to love yourself and give it the attention it needs. Life is too short to be wasted on unimportant people and things. Life is supposed to be good for you! Be happy! Smile a lot! Count your blessings. Look for reasons to feel good. Dig out positive things in the past. Look for positive things from where you stand and expect positive things in the future. Let your heart serve as your compass and the Book of Ten  as your map to help you find your way so be sure to get a copy of this book especially when in Manila!

I’m truly at awe and speechless for this surprise! This is really something unexpected!  I feel so thankful and blessed with all the great things which are unfolding. With all the food bloggers around, I never thought my entry would even top the 1st round! Actually, I rarely join competitions. I’m simply happy with the things I’m doing. Eating out, doing crazy things, capturing moments and putting them all in writing is second nature to me. =)

Thank You So Much Sooo Pinoy for finding my entry worthy enough! I feel very honored to be part of this glorious event! I’m so excited to meet my fellow bloggers who qualified as well. I’m sure interacting with them and hearing their stories will be such a delight! I’m certain that this experience will be sooo awesome!

The guy is Ivan Dorschner, a Pinoy Big Brother contestant from the PBB Teen Clash 2010 edition.

Funny thing is that according to our good friend and Katy Perry concert correspondent at the scene, Francine Prieto, she states that Derek Ransay was actually one of the people whom fans were screaming at to go on stage but was apparently “shy.” I guess that’s something only a Katy Perry can do!

Katy Perry asked for one shirtless guy from the crowd and Ivan Dorshner was glad to oblige. Katy Perry was so playful and fun! You can even see Miss Peacock here pinching the shirtless Ivan Dorshner’s nipple! 

So lucky Ivan Dorshner was able to go on stage and live out every man’s California Dream with Katy Perry in Manila, if only for a few blissful seconds.

Katy Perry Kissed a Boy in the Philippines: Lucky Filipino Fan at Katy Perry Concert

Ever since I could remember, I’ve had a love affair with food. What started as bonding with the family has now turned into a full blown passion. I pride myself in being very adventurous with food, I’ve been known to say I will try anything once.

When In Manila, I’m sure it’s very obvious that most Filipinos, like me, are very open when it comes to food. The diverse population in the country has opened our palettes to different tastes and cuisines. This is one of the reasons why one very successful brand has decided to come to Manila.

World famous PF Chang’s has just brought their very first restaurant here in the Philippines. The first in a completely Asian setting, PF Chang’s is a contemporary fusion restaurant which serves Chinese dishes.

I got the chance to experience the food first hand last Tuesday when they invited us over for lunch. The first branch in Alabang Town Center’s newly renovated area is a two floor space which can seat 240 people. Outside, we saw these terra-cotta warriors and these majestic horses welcoming and ushering diners into the restaurant.

These Terra Cotta Warriors are replicas of those unearthed from the tomb of Shi Huangdi, the first emperor of China.

The inside is very simple, bright, and spacious. Chinese accents and decorations adorn the place. A hand-painted Chinese mural stands as the ground floor’s centerpiece.

The meal started with Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps and Dynamite Shrimp served as appetizers.

Dynamite Shrimp: Although a little spicy, this a favorite! Coming back for more of these!

This is half (?) an order of the Chicken Lettuce Wrap. Couldn’t stop myself from eating this.

Now on to the main menu! We had:

Chang’s Spicy Chicken, good and not as spicy as the Dynamite Shrimps.

Mongolian Beef made with U.S. Angus  beef!

Shrimp with Candied Walnuts; The shrimp, honeydew melons, and walnuts are great together. Another favorite.

Chengdu Spiced Lamb. Very nice.

Lo Mein, Chinese stir fried egg noodles.

Sichuan Style Asparagus. I love my vegetables!

At PF Chang’s, everything is delivered fresh and prepared daily. This assures the quality of everything that comes out of their kitchen. The dishes here, with an emphasis on simplicity and detail, consist of only 3-4 ingredients each.

Food here can also be customized and made to be gluten free. A vegetarian menu is also available.

Aside from the good food, they have a vast beverage and alcohol menu. From signature cocktails like their Organic Agave Margarita, to their handpicked wine selection, and simple Tamarind Iced Tea drinks, I’m sure they have whatever it is that will quench your thirst.

PF Chang’s ensure their customers of quality service. A special staff was even brought in from different countries to train the local staff who will be serving us here.

They were all smiles as they served us our cocktails. They catered to our every whim! 

During the lunch we also met the people behind this restaurant that was two years in the making. Plans of building more branches in the Philippines are still in the works.

You dont’ have to fly to Taiwan anymore because it has now landed on Philippine shores and I’m so eager to tell and show you great photos of this fabulous new find we recently discovered  along Tomas Morato in Quezon City called SHANG TSU (top kitchen)!

I must admit that I really don’t know much about Taiwanese food ye,t but I’m eager to try everything and  boy was I impressed with the new dishes which was introduced to me!  This year, I’ve decided to feature more healthy and “feel good” articles for you to get a hold of that “good life” which we are all entitled to have! This, particular place I believe, is something which everyone should ought to try for the simple reason that the dishes are genuinely great and unbelievably affordable!

For this week, I also invited some of my girlfriends to share this dinner with me. I know they will appreciate this very much!  What I really like about this passion of mine is that I get to share my joys and blessings with others. If you’re one of my regular readers, you’d notice that I’m getting quite redundant with the “sharing our blessings” thingy but frankly speaking, it is really true that’s why I always mention about it. I believe that is the most rewarding part in being a food and travel writer. It’s really all about the relationships which you cherish and the new people you get to meet and co-create with along the way. I am very much happy with my day  job as a teacher but during these days, I’m at my happiest!

for only 70 pesos you get to enjoy this huge serving of authentic style Taiwanese milk tea!

We all liked this a lot!

Sour Plum Juice  酸梅湯  (40 php) – Though I’m not really a big fan of sour drinks, we did appreciate this drink a lot because it was very refreshing and it makes you feel that you’re drinking something very healthy!

Black Tea 紅茶   (50 php) – I’m a certified tea addict so I must say this is my personal pick! It just had the right amount of sweetness in it and for only 50 pesos, you get a serving that is good for sharing! Great value for money!

Taiwanese Oyster Pancake 蚵仔煎   (100 php) – a popular Taiwanese street food of Chaozhou/Fujian origin often sold as  xiaochi in night markets. 

The dish consists of an omelet with a filling primarily composed of small oysters.

Chef Chang makes sure that the pancakes are made perfectly!

These dishes are so perfect for people like me who are are trying to eat healthy! I love tofu a lot and what I find so special about these are that, though all of  them are basically tofu, they all have such unique characteristics which make each of them very interesting!

Crispy Fried Tofu  炸豆腐 70 php

Deep fried to perfection yet so soft on the inside!  An instant favorite!

Century Egg with Tofu 皮蛋豆腐 (60 php)

I’ve got all praises for this dish! Steamed firm Chinese tofu topped with dried fish flakes partnered with slices of century egg! Somebody stop me pleaaaaassseeee!!

I love the presentation! Bravo!

Combination (adobo style seaweed, eggs and tofu) 70php

- Another set of tofu and egg side dishes which will surely compliment your  meal! Super healthy! High in protein and minerals! I believe this will be great with their noodle dishes!

-At first, I kinda ignored this one because I thought it was just your typical sweet potato (kamote) fries but after tasting it, I couldn’t stop! I believe the spices which they used really kicked it up a notch!

*Steamed or Fried dumplings (pechay, kutchay, corn, shrimp) 60php

I adore dumplings a lot especially the steamed ones!  I find them to be very guilt-free. The fried ones were also not greasy but more ala “gyoza” style!  I believe I can live with only eating dumplings and tofu!

Oyster Misua Soup 蚵仔麵線  (80 php)

-I would have to describe this as very light yet so filling! Perfect with dumplings I bet!!

Taiwan Beef Noodle Soup  台灣牛肉麵（冬粉）   (145 php)

 Boiling hot beef broth with fresh noodles and  thin tender beef slices!

I highly recommend you try these super affordable set meals! They are all served in huge plates along with 3 flavorful side dishes which makes it a very interesting  meal!

Ultra crispy skin yet the meat remains to be very juicy! I can still remember the cracking crispy sound of the skin (music to my ears) while I slowly devour on its juicy meat. No need for any sauces etc! Perfect as it is!

As outstanding as the fried chicken! Pinoys will surely appreciate this because of its mouthwatering thick sweet and flavorful sauce plus tender meat chunks simmered til set I bet! This was the dish which made me break my no-rice diet! hahahaha For me though, I think I’d like the meat to be more tender but the rest of the gang said it was fine! I wanna try this again!

I woke up the next morning craving for everything! The hardest job I do perhaps is  controlling  my cravings whenever I post process my food photos the next day!  Will I come back? Surely I will soon! I’m really happy with this new find! Experiences like these make me feel so lucky to be a food writer!  Shang Tsu is for everyone who would like to enjoy authentic Taiwanese cuisine and basically for everyone who loves eating and trying out new flavors! According to my instincts, this restaurant will go a long way with its fantastic dishes and affordability! I highly recommend you bring the whole family and barkada with you! And for all you foodies who are reading this, well you ain’t a foodie if you haven’t tried Shang Tsu!

As part of World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) global network’s 50^th Anniversary, WWF-Philippines held the launch of Greener at 50 fundraising online auction. The event launched the Greener at 50 fundraising online auction, in partnership with E-bay Philippines, for the benefit of WWF-Philippines’ environmental sustainability projects all over the country.

“Much work remains to be done. Come now, and take this journey with us. Guests were also able to experience a live auction but this time using seeds as money! The seeds that were collected will be planted (in different conservation areas) as part of WWF’s environmental efforts. Winners got to bring home photos taken personally by WWF-Philippines CEO and Vice Chair Lory Tan and by celebrity and influential photographer, Sara Black. They also got to bid on a trip to Hamilo Coast, one of WWF-Philippines’ conservation sites in the country.

The Greener at 50 auction will be continued online via E-bay Philippines. Limited edition items from famous celebrities and personalities classified under fashion, music, food, arts, sports and once-in-a-lifetime WWF-led adventures will be up for grabs.

When in Manila, no matter how busy we are with our personal lives, may we never forget to take the time and participate in worthwhile activities in order to make a difference and touch people’s lives!

I find joy in sharing. Everybody in my circle knows that fact. I love organizing stuff for people and making efforts to show how special they are but never have I tried volunteering before so when my artist friend Nel Diamond invited me, I didn’t have any 2nd thoughts. I immediately contacted my friends to ask for donations as well. Since the year was about to end, I thought sharing my blessings and making children smile would be the perfect activity to show how grateful I am with all the blessings I got!

The Paint Their Smile project started last year and was spearheaded by Nel Diamond Paredes. I personally admire this kid a lot because of his genuine heart for charity. When he started his own business (Indefinite Stone) in making hand painted personalized shirts, shoes and bags last year, he thought of putting up an activity for hospital kids so his business would have more direction. I find him to be very unusual because usually, people at his age prefer hanging-out at bars, drinking and busy with their own vices but  him… he prefers to make a difference. He has already organized art exhibits to raise funds for less fortunate kids and even worked a summer job just to raise for funds for them. I’m really impressed that’s why I believe he deserves much support and recognition for being such a great example for all of us. I knew in my heart that this activity would be worth the effort!

Meet the SMILE Painters!

this is really not an organization but a gathering of friends who are willing to give their time to make kids smile 

For our next stop we visited the Tahan-Tahanan Cancer clinic for children at the East Avenue Medical Center.  The kids there were very nice and friendly!

So many life lessons and realizations…. something which you will never learn inside the classroom.

I’m so thankful that even our friends from AKIBA Cafe gave treats and toys!

As expected, it turned out to be beyond successful!

We sure painted a lot of smiles that day! I never thought how reaching-out, talking with the kids and parents would have a profound effect on me and my friends. To personally hand them the gifts and connect with them had an indescribable positive effect. As to what Nel said, ” It’s not about the presents but our presence. ”  Somehow in our own little way, we were able to make them forget about their pain even just for a little while because we made them feel that they are not forgotten and very much loved. Now, I truly agree with what Burt Bacharach  is trying to tell us for decades now… “What the world needs now is LOVE.”  I’m certain that God will provide us with more when He sees your genuine desire to share. No matter how hard my trials are as early as now, I know that He is just testing me if I will easily surrender or go for my happiness no matter what.  I’d like to think that I am leveling up. I know that after these trials, I will have a much upgraded armor to face the world stronger. I just need a few cups more of courage and faith…perhaps this is what YOU need too!

ahhhhhhh…… there is really joy in giving and  no matter what they say, LIFE is still great when in Manila!

The Paint Their Smile 2.0 Gift Giving Project

we love your blog, WhenInManila.com,  and commend you on such fabulous content!!   Here is a some of our work we shot in 3 weeks, that we want to share with Manila and the world.

It is work in progress.  Richeille is my partner and art director, I have been shooting for over 20 years and been based out of NYC since the 90′s.  We just fell in love with the Philippines and will be returning in Feb 2012 to carry on this project.

Images dealing with want and need, images dealing with the complexities and incongruities of the Philippine culture, the impact of its colonial past and the unique influences of its geography.  We managed to hook up with Elite models (alisa and pauline), travelled Palawan with  Valerie Weigman and stylist Patrick Galang.  Would’ve loved to shoot more fashion stories but split the work between real people and editorials.

One room being crisp white and very feminine while the other being dark, edgy and very masculine. David Archuleta: Now a Kapatid on TV5!

When In Manila, in a live official announcement made in Paparazzi’s Presscon Express on January 8, it was revealed that pop singer David Archuleta is officially the newest TV5 talent. The pop singer is scheduled to arrive in Manila on January 13 to shoot an upcoming primetime series with homegrown Kapatid talents Eula Caballero and Jasmine Curtis Smith. 

Moreover, new reports state that G Tongi will also play the young mom of David Archuleta.

David Archuleta Now a TV5 Talent: TV Show with Eula Caballero and Jasmine Curtis Smith

What constitutes a good cover girl? Based from my over-a-decade-old magazine collection, she has to be attractive. She doesn’t necessarily have to be pretty because everything can be enhanced with a swish of a brush. We’re lucky that over the years, not only have local magazines aided in the evolution of society’s common viewpoint for beauty, they also paved the way for non-model cover girls. Reviewing international fashion history, Anna Wintour made it okay for celebrities and non-zero body sizes to grace the cover of American Vogue. Who dares cross the most influential fashion magazine?

Our local leading fashion magazines started the year with controversial covers featuring very powerful women. International hit-maker Charice and pound-for-pound Manny Pacquiao’s first lady Jinkee grace the covers of Preview and Mega respectively. In the moment and well talked about, yes and yes. Emphasized cheekbones, noseline, jawline— check, check, check. The 2 magazines have been around for quite some time now. Both magazines continuously outwit each other when it comes to coming up with good editorials and features which is beneficial for us because we only get the best in each issue we bank on. They’ve created bonds with a lot of women; I’m pretty sure they know the standards for print manipulation.

I’m not quite sure why people are making a big fuss over the “Photoshopped” covers. Everyone does it, and I don’t see the overuse of the application in either of the photos. Sure, I didn’t recognize Jinkee right away but isn’t that how magazine covers almost always are? Sometimes I think people tend to overanalyze things especially when they’re not adept to a certain topic, just to have a “say”. Before you succumb to Twitter trends, it would be best to consider the following:

Photographer. Let’s not fully rely on Photoshop. Isn’t it possible that the photographers were well-trained? Think mad skills, man.

Lighting. Lighting is a big part of shoots. Strong light makes skin look flawless. It should do work, because it’s not easy being under it! Reflectors alone can help a lot in removing those dark eye circles and blemishes.

Makeup artistry. I’m a makeup artist. I know how hard and tricky concealing blemishes can get without looking like a freezing corpse. Contouring takes a lot of mad skills, too. It takes practice and even formal education. Take it from model-MUA Bianca Valerio, author of Face to Face. The book cover alone is a testimony that makeup does so much.

This is coming from a point of view of a concerned 20-year old Multimedia Arts student who reads a fashion magazine like it’s Physics, and has worked for many photo shoots as a photographer, makeup artist, stylist and even as an over-photoshopped model.

And because I genuinely want you have a happy year, allow me to share to you one of my tried and tested methods. I really couldn’t exactly put into words how thankful I am with the overflow of blessings which I reaped since I started this positive switch!

In line with my previous article about being grateful for what we have, now, it’s time to ASK and visualize the things which we WANT to materialize!

YES it’s as simple as that! You really just have to ASK!! You don’t even have to know how you will have it…. all we  have to do is ASK and let the universe do its course!

For this year, I made a vision board of the things which I WANT to have. I noticed that most of us often want a house, a car, the latest gadget, a better relationship but the thing is…. there are 2 factors why these wishes of ours don’t happen. First, we easily get demotivated. We easily lose hope (booooo!!). You see my friend, when you allow negative energy to be the dominant vibration in your life, the universe will just mirror it back to you! So what to do? Choose to feel good! Make sure to let that spark of light that is within you  shine! Second, our wishes are usually vague! You have to know what you WANT!  Be specific with what YOU WANT!

Let me show you my vision board…

1.  Taking photos make me feel so ALIVE so I WANT to upgrade my camera to a Canon Mark II! I also WANT to setup a simple studio in my house for our food photography passion! I’m sure Frank would agree on how taking photos changed our lives for the good! Photography means so much to us so I hope we can have more time to improve our craft! I’m so happy to tell you that I’m slowly setting it up during my free time! You see, when something makes you happy, you will definitely find ways to feed your soul with it!

2.  Though my financial status is fine, I really WANT to close my card and SAVE MORE for a business I WANT to invest in!

3.  To travel for FREE!! yeah I know it sounds crazy but that’s what I WANT!! With the use of our talents, I’m certain that this is  very attainable! hihihiihi

4.  It has been more than 2 years after I suffered my most painful heartache ever and honestly speaking… I’m thankful that it happened! ‘Coz if not, my life will never be as happy, creative and positive as now! I never would have met the wonderful people who are currently in my circle! I’m thankful for the lessons learned so this year, I believe I’m READY to fall in-love again! I know he’s somewhere out there and I’m so eager and WANTING to be with him! I know he’s definitely worth the wait!

5.  Ultimately, at the right time, like every girl, I WANT to settle down and be a mom. I WANT to have kids. A daughter or 2 or 3… and one of them will be named Maggie.  I WANT a simple house and live harmoniously with my husband and kids. I WILL be a wife which my husband will be proud of. It excites me whenever I think about this because I often visualize myself teaching my kids on how to cook and preparing special meals for the whole family. Yes, I’m very much family oriented and I want only the best for them!

I have compiled photos of the things I WANT on this online vision board and made a point to look at them everyday for I know that the more I focus my energies on it, the more it will manifest! I know you may be thinking now like, “What if I don’t get these things?” or “This is  impossible!” —- > If you’re thinking of this right now, then you just hindered yourself from receiving them because of the negative vibes which you have just sent the universe! My advice is just STOP the pessimism (boooo!!)  and just enjoy dreaming about your WANTS! Enjoy it… Savor it… BELIEVE that it’s YOURS!!!

You know what? I don’t really worry if I don’t get exactly these things I’ve listed because most of the time, I GET an UPGRADED VERSION of it which is even more wonderful!! You see, when you focus on happiness and the things which keep you HAPPY and ALIGNED with your SOURCE (we usually call it GOD), there will be no room for any doubts or worries because the universe will provide you with all the good which you need!      

Decide to FEEL GOOD NOW! Live the LIFE which you promised yourselves you’d live may it be when in Manila or anywhere around  the globe!

Visualize An Abundant 2012 with Your Very Own Vision Board!

There  is sooooo much to be thankful for when in Manila or may it be anywhere in the world! The only sad part is that oftentimes, we fail to recognize and appreciate them because we are too focused on what we do not have rather than the things which we do have!

So before we bid goodbye to 2011, may we take the time to remember and be thankful for the blessings that has been showered to us this year! 

I started working on myself in having this “attitude of gratitude” in 2010 and I am so overwhelmed with the abundance of blessings which I’ve been receiving ever since! To name a few, my health greatly improved, I got promoted as a Team Manager and I even won raffles and contests since I made this positive switch!  Easier said than done.. I know, but it is NOT Impossible! It simply starts with a mental decision to be thankful and feel good no matter what. It’s about choosing the dominant vibration you wanna emit.  It takes time…. it’s a process and a journey! But once you get there…. the harvest is just unlimited!

I’d like to share to you my gratitude board. I just love looking at it!  If you noticed, they are all about people and experiences rather than material stuff.  Each photo holds a very special memory which I truly cherish in my heart! I’m sure these photos will also put a smile on Frank’s face. I do have thousands of photos in my hard drive (more than 20k photos this year only! phew!), so I just had to pick a few ones! And yes, the people around me are my true treasures and I am so thankful to share these blessings with them! I always believed that the best thing you can give someone is a “good memory.“ My partner Frank and I had the time of our lives this year! We sure made soooo many great memories together and shared them with our family and friends! We never saw it coming but it did! Rockets started going off especially when we started  taking photos together and just allowed ourselves to be who we are.  The two of us just work so well together that many people started to notice the “magic” in our photos! I am soooo thankful to have him in my life and for the wonderful friendship which we both share. I believe it is soooo rare to find a person which you share a real chemistry with, so I really feel lucky because the universe allowed our paths to cross! I believe that the things we did this year are but seeds  which we planted… and since we planted seeds of goodness, I’m certain that the harvest will be bountiful! I look forward in experiencing more and more great stuff together with him! =)

We are so very thankful for Vince and wheninmanila.com for believing in us and for being sooooo supportive of us! Wheninmanila.com definitely opened new doors  with all the places and people we got to meet along the way! I may say we gained more confidence with our creative and people skills due to this.  I believe this is just the start of something sooooo great and Frank and I are so proud to be part of the wheninmanila.com team! It is indeed a pleasure to co-create with such wonderful people!

So what really is the secret? It is plainly to choose to be grateful and be happy no matter what…. and I guarantee that ALL GREAT THINGS WILL FOLLOW!!

The Attitude of Gratitude! Grateful For Such An Abundant Year!

Dear Waiting Heart: 

If he misses you, he’ll get in touch with you. 

He *will.* 

Whether or not he’s busy. Whether or not he’s changed his SIM & lost your phone number. Whether or not blah blah blah (insert whatever excuse you’ve made up for him here). 

He’s a man. And men are designed to go after what they *know* they want. 

Just observe them. 

When they want that promotion, they learn & do what needs to be done. When they’re into a tv series, they’ll find out how to download it and store it in a safe, acid-free place (next to the action figure still in mint condition inside the box). When they need to get to a tv set at a certain time to watch that epic boxing match, they find a way to make it happen. 

So if he doesn’t get in touch with you, he’s not thinking about you. 

Accept that, and move on with your life based on that. 

If he’s thinking about you but hasn’t gotten in touch with you because he has intimacy issues / rejection issues / (insert other excuses you’ve made up for him here), then just be glad you’re not his therapist or his mother (because you’re not). 

Move on, find a Man (not a therapy patient, or a little boy), and free yourself from this waiting. 

Life is out there. And so is Love. :-) Be available to it this 2012.

When In Manila, and into the whole KPOP thing, then you need to check this out!

The event is called KPOP Nation 2011, and we’re celebrating this year with much more especially to those who are new to KPOP.
