dezato-cafe-94

When in Manila and craving for Mochi balls, there is only 1 place to remember…. Dezato Mochi Cafe!   2 yrs ago, it was our editor Vince who featured this place. He told me  it’s his favorite dessert place so I got even more curious!  I feel very fortunate for giving me this assignment because for the longest time, I’ve been really curious on what mochi balls are!   Whenever I go to Parvati [...]

When In Manila, there is a ninety-nine point nine percent chance that you are stressed.  Between work and the infamous Philippine traffic you have to fight to get to work (or do it), there is very little time to sleep, much less enjoy some leisure time.  Unless, of course, there is a long weekend–a blessing to busy city slickers who want to find time to enjoy the finer things in life.  November 5 fell on [...]

Tiger-translate-manila

When in Manila, get the best of what Manila art and music has to offer.   Are you familiar with Tiger Beer? This is Singapore’s first locally brewed beer and holds pride in being the “World Acclaimed Lager Beer” and has been around since the 1930s. So what on earth is Tiger Translate? Tiger translate promotes Tiger Beer, but this isn’t just about drinking and getting buzzed out. Basically Tiger Translate promotes art: [...]

polarity-polecats-manila-anniversary-show-yin-yang-pole-dance-balance

When in Manila, amazing things happen every day: stars are born, millions are made (and lost), and people defy gravity.  I got to see this for myself, watching the jaw-dropping, eye-popping, and even heartwrenching performance of Polecats Manila, the Philippines’ premiere pole-dancing group, at PhilAm Life Auditorium.  Infusing pole-dance moves with jazz, ballet, gymnastics, and maybe just a pinch of superhumanity, the Polecats wowed the crowd at Polarity: The Polecats Manila Second Year Anniversary Show.   When In Manila, you’ll see the love for the classics all over. From the music, to the entertainment and especially the fashion!   It’s only fitting that we bring back the classics every now and again to remind us of how cool things were back in the day.   For many, Tretorn brings back nostalgic memories of grade school when students in the 80s and 90s were required to wear the Swedish shoe brand’s [...]

When in Manila, why not check out the PETA theater center and immerse yourself in something worth watching. The theatrical plays and musicals aren’t really that big here in Manila which is why you’d find most of the theatrical centers in “hidden” places or hard to reach places. The only places I know where I can watch musical plays and such are at the Meralco Theater, the CCP, and just recently, I [...]

Shakespeare on a Sunday. Doesn’t really sounds a hype of fun isn’t it? When In Manila, would you rather go shopping on a Sunday or choose just like what I did, to Shakespeare on a Sunday? Sounded more like of an ice cream flavour to me at first but yeah I was actually referring to the master of rhythm, William Shakespeare.  The only thing I had in mind when I got invited to watch this [...]

The power of a woman is in her hips.   In the way she moves in them, in what its movements say about her.  A woman’s hips, that round, gentle slope of a curve that defines a woman’s body…there’s power there–power to seduce, power to give life.   There is no other time when you feel this power most when you are warming up for a pole dancing class at Polecats Manila.  When you have your [...]
