Summer is finally here, and if you feel like heading to the beach, Camaya Sands Resort and Leisure in Mariveles, Bataan is worth a visit.
By land, it’s a three-hour drive from the metro. You can also go there via ferry from Roxas Boulevard CCP Terminal, which only takes one and a half hours.
Camaya Sands Resort and Leisure has fine, off-white sand that is almost at par with the sands of the best beaches of the country. Add to that the natural cleanliness of the waters that are part of the West Philippine Sea: no sea urchins, no seaweeds, just more fine sand underneath your feet! The staff even proudly testifies to it being a “natural beach.”
If you want to take a break from the beach, you could relax in one of the resort’s infinity pools. In contrast to the sea’s natural coolness, the pools are just the right amount of warm. It feels like being in a jacuzzi minus the bubbles!
You can try kayaking, which is free, when you avail of the Day Tour Package. Other amenities include snorkelling and jetskiing. If you prefer a non-water adventure, you can go hiking. Just ask the staff for a guide.
People can unwind under the sun or get a tan while lying on the beach benches and patio lounges that are abundant in the resort.
No food? No problem! You can eat at the Wood Pavilion, the resort’s al fresco restaurant, which compliments your dining experience with the breathtaking beach view. Their menu by the renowned chef Billy King offers a wide selection of meals like baby back ribs, bagnet, calamari, pansit bihon, and other desserts and coolers. What’s even better is that you can choose to go off-menu! You can request them to cook your desired meal, as long as you or they have the ingredients needed for it.
There is also a bar that serves local and imported beer, wine, and liquor. There are parties by the beach and bands play at night every now and then, so make sure you ask for the schedule so you’ll know when it’s party time or not!
The hotel rooms and service are also highly commendable.
The lobby, corridors, and rooms are clean and well-maintained. There is a terrace in each room that gives you a nice view of the cove, the beach, or other parts of the resort. There are rooms for two to four people and four to six people. The hotel has a simple yet high-end gym facility, too, so for the gym buffs, missing a workout won’t be a worry.
Meanwhile, Camaya Coast, the hotel’s residential area overlooking the beach, still has available lots and condominium units for sale.
Louie Unson, Sales Director for Camaya, shared that the company has big plans on further developing this haven with a par 36 or nine holes golf course soon, a convention center, and who knows, maybe even a theme park!
