Burger Company is just the right place to hang-out with friends. You can forget your worries in life for a while with its hip and chill ambiance, and, of course, with their feel-good food and board games!

Burger Company, a burger joint located at Scout Reyes near St. Mary’s College in Quezon City, just turned 1 year old last August 9.

Last year, Alvin Ong and Francis Fabie partnered to create Burger Company in order to share their unique burger creations. A year later, it expanded into a gaming cafe, too. Burger Company does not just offer mouth-watering and flavourful gourmet burgers and spicy chicken wings, though; they also allow people to have a really good time with their friends through the free available board games in the area. It also serves as a Gaming Library outlet in Quezon City where you can buy cool and awesome board games!

Francis owns most of the board games that the diners can play with. From having 20 board games last year, they now have at least 40 game boards to share with their customers.

The Food at Burger Company

For starters, we had the Buffalo Trax Crisscut Fries and Firefighter’s Pride Chicken Wings. The crisscut fries have a spicy kick because of the cayenne pepper and paprika. What I like about them is that they are not greasy, and though they are spicy, it’s the good kind of spicy that will make you want more. They go well with Heinz Tomato Ketchup.

The Firefighter’s Pride-flavored Chicken Wings are spicy as hell. They taste good, but they’re traitors, ‘cos once you start to enjoy them, the spiciness kicks in. You can choose a different sauce for the chicken wings. They have two categories: the classic series and the signature series. The sauces are marked with a legend that depends on their level of spiciness, starting from mild, caution, danger, to extreme. Firefighter’s Pride is labeled “Caution.” If you’re in for a challenge, get the El Nino-flavored chicken wings. Hotness alert: DANGER. The EXTREME Global Warming sauce is yet to be launched.

Burger Company also launched new additions to their menu. One of them: the too-good-to-be-true BACON DIPPERS (!!!).

 Bacon Dippers (6 pcs., P165; 9 pcs. P250)

These are large bacon strips that are covered in batter and then deep-fried. They are served with cheese sauce for extra flavor. The crispy bacon strips are already good enough to eat on their own, though. Our eyes widened as soon as these were served on our table. Heaven for bacon lovers… @_@ Never mind the oil. We’re still young, anyway. 😛

For the gourmet burgers, we ordered the Hawaii Five-O and the  and Mushroom burger. As expected, the Hawaii Five-O is Burger Company’s own take of the aloha burger. I loved the sweet and tangy combination of the flavours and the fact that they added bacon strips is a win. The burger is not that big, but it’s compact. For me, it’s just the right serving because it’s not like those burgers that look too overwhelming to eat. The buns have oatmeal flakes, too.

The Gorgonzola and Mushroom burger is new for my tastebuds; it was the first time I had tasted Gorgonzola dressing. Gorgonzola is a type of Italian blue cheese. The dressing goes really well with the meaty taste of the angus patty.
