Fear not the Walkers!

You’ve probably heard about the themed escape rooms that have been popping up all over the metro. Well, Breakout Philippines, the team responsible for events like Outbreak Manila, the 5-kilometer zombie-infested run, is hosting a Walking Dead edition of their Breakout room in Trinoma until November 7 only.

Instead of the usual 45-minute time limit, you and up to five of your friends are only given 20 minutes to try and solve the puzzle by using the clues inside a dimly-lit room… but with a zombie that’s threatening to break out of the closet and infuse terror to anyone near it.

Since it was a first-time experience for me, I was feeling really anxious as we were getting briefed about what to do and signing the waiver forms before being escorted inside the room with blindfolds on. I didn’t know what to expect, but I knew that it would be fun and thrilling. It was.

Taking pictures inside the room is forbidden (you have to leave your things outside, but don’t worry, they’ll keep it safe for you) I only took photos of the venue itself, not the room, which at present is still located at Trinoma’s fourth floor, near the Garden Restaurants. The set design and props (even the roaming zombies) were impressive! If you’re looking for a city adventure but have to operate on a tight budget, this is definitely the way to go! You and your friends only have to shell out Php200 each to participate.

Since I didn’t manage to break out in twenty minutes, I’m probably going to check out their other Breakout rooms (located in Katipunan and Paragon) just to try the other themed rooms I’ve been hearing really rave reviews about: Prison Room, Adarna’s Lair, and Room 13.
