Health Secretary Francisco Duque III urged the public for their cooperation in doing their part to practice preventive measures and self-quarantine at home upon experiencing mild symptoms. “Now it is our turn to do our part in mitigating the spread of the disease,” he said. “The success of our measures to contain COVID-19 is hinged on your participation. We will get through this together.”

DOH has already reported that the Philippine Heart Center (PHC) is limiting its services after several health personnel were exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 case who had already passed away. The patient had no history of travel or close contact with another confirmed patient. Many PUIs and PUMs had been exposed to the patient during the patient’s confinement at the hospital.

The PHC will now only accommodate in-patient and emergency cases only.

Rizal Medical Center in Pasig City has also reported several health workers being exposed to the COVID-19. However, the DOH is still verifying the information and updated conditions of the health workers.

So far, there have been 8 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 in the Philippines.
