A maze of walled villas led us to our own private escape: 325 square meters of everything you could possibly need for a dream vacation. From the stone path garden leading up to our living room, which then opens up to a view of our own swimming pool, to a picturesque koi pond framed by our outdoor bath tub, it is evident that Villa Kubu was designed to be the ultimate vacation home. No detail too small, no luxury spared; our villa had all the bases covered for the most comfortable stay, plus heaps more. I especially admired how they even had bath salts and insect repellant (we were told the mosquitoes go crazy come nighttime, though we didn’t really experience it) available on the ready.
Bikes were available for use free of charge, free transport was offered from our villa to Seminyak square or Seminyak beach, and motorbikes were also conveniently available for rent. Guests were even granted IDR 150,000 vouchers at their in-house spa, Spa Venus. Needless to say, I felt very well-cared for!

Fondest memories of our trip include having laid-back al fresco breakfasts prepared right in our villa, enjoying the slow and steady pace of a lazy day as we lounged by the pool, doing a bit of swimming when the noontime sun got too hot, and stepping out into the late afternoon to get a glimpse of Seminyak beach’s famous sunset. Our days were balmy, bright and slow, and our nights either loud and colorful in the main district, or peaceful and quiet in our villa. It was, personally, my ideal retreat. And on the day of our flight back, we honestly didn’t want to leave! Our cozy home-away-from-home had inevitably rubbed off on us, and I’m sure it would on you as well.
