Big B Burgers: Dig into a Unique Bacon and Beef Experience
When in Manila, you will never run out of new things to experience and try. From a different kind of ramen place to avocado cakes and beer frosts, Manila boasts of a selection of experimental yet wonderful array of tasty food for us to enjoy.
Maginhawa has always been a haven for foodies, and just this July, another place has been added to the list of burger joints to check out when you are in the area. Big B Burgers, a small joint located at Magiting St., offers a limited yet very interesting menu that will definitely satisfy your craving of beef, bacon, spam, and fries.
It all started out as an online venture for the owners Joelle Yuvienco and Erik Galvez. From there, they started putting up their then only burger, Bacon X Beef Burgers, to test by putting up stalls on bazaars and events around UP. Neither of them knew that it would be such a huge hit that a few months after the birth of their online business, they would finally venture out into their very own stall on the stretch of Teacher’s Village.
Big B: Bacon X Beef Quarterpounder (Php 99.00)
Big B Burgers is known for their bacon and beef patties, where they actually mix bacon bits into the beef. They serve it in various sizes, but I highly recommend getting the one pounder since you can better taste the sweet and saltiness of the bacon and the flavor of the beef with a bigger patty. Aside from their bacon x beef, they also have spam x beef, which is a nice combination, as well.

What makes their burgers more engrossing is the “AWESOMESAUCE” that they serve in a gun-like dispenser. No one knows what it is made of, but the taste is definitely something. It resembles an herb-like taste, but has the texture of a sandwich spread. There’s a hint of spice in it, too. Despite having unknown ingredients, the flavor is definitely something and makes their burgers more heavenly.
Poutine ng Ina Mo (Php 65.00)
They also have fries, both of which have catchy names: Poutine ng Ina Mo and Takawyaki. Poutine ng Ina is inspired by the Canadian dish, Poutine, and has an interesting sauce that is reminiscent of mashed potatoes.
Big B Burgers has limited seats, though, and can only accommodate around 10-15 people max. The place has a classy black and white touch, lined up with witty posters and signs. Their staff is also accommodating and humorous. Plus points to their affordable and very student-friendly prices – a meal will only cost you around P100-P300 per person.
