Belly-Sima Food Festival by Mercato: Delectable Food Finds, Great Music and An Awesome Time

Mercato Centrale is mostly known as a night food market introducing unique food finds from new and emerging food businesses. Imagine this: after a long and tiring day at work or school, people come to Mercato to unwind with the relaxing and stress-relieving music while chowing down on delicious food from the variety of food stalls available there.

No wonder families, officemates, barkadas, sweethearts, and almost anyone who’s been to Mercato keep coming back again and again with hopes of discovering something new on each visit. In fact, some of the popular food stalls we see today emerged from Mercato, including Mochiko, Kristina’s Inutak, Eat My GF (as in Garlic Fries. LOL!), Merry Moo, and so many more…

From the people that brought us Mercato Centrale: Bonifacio Global City’s Weekend Foodie Getaway comes another FOOD-tastic sequel that you’ll surely love and come back to. Held at the country’s leading world-class shopping and dining destination, Glorietta, Belly-Sima Food Festival is a weekly food fair celebrating artisan, gourmet and healthy, organic food.

Last September 6, we got a taste of what the Belly-Sima Food Festival has to offer and munched on bite-sized pieces of cheesecake, chicken, waffles, paninis, chips and so much more!!! And because it is Belly-Sima, they’re no ordinary food products as each and every item was unique and new (not to mention mostly organic).

Some vendors at the Belly-Sima Food Festival stuck to the concept of organic and vegan food, while others went for gourmet food while still others opted for desserts instead. Overall, it has a good mix of food stalls so there is definitely something for everyone.

Until now, my tastebuds are reminiscing about the unusual but delicious flavors of the food from the event. Some of the most memorable ones include the Cookie Sticks, Almond “Peanut” Butter, Chorizo Toppings, Chocolated-coated Oreos, and Strawberry-Coffee Ice Cream.

Not only did I enjoy the food, but I also learned something at the same time. I got the opportunity to chat with some of the friendly vendors who shared their advocacies with me. From their stories, most of them are internet-based and are just starting out. They shared that this is a great opportunity for them to be out in public (especially in Belly-Sima), so that they can become well-known in the market.
