Bea Alonzo’s ‘I Am Hope’ sends frontliners and stranded students food packs

Bea Alonzo recently launched I Am Hope, an initiative aimed towards providing frontliners with medical equipment as they face the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Last May 22, the organization co-founded by Alonzo and movie producer Rina Navarro delivered 500 food packs to frontline workers of the organization Youth for Nationalism and Democracy and to the Office of Vice President Leni Robredo.

The OVP distributed the food packs to stranded students at the University of the Philippines dormitory as well as to senior citizens of a community in Caloocan City.

100 food packs were prepared by Bea herself from her home while another 100 came straight from the kitchen of Vhong Navarro and his wife, Tanya Bautista. 300 food packs came from Rina and the organization’s volunteers in their headquarters.

“Even though we’re miles away from each other, it was as if I was cooking right next to them, with the same goal of putting smiles on people’s faces and filling their tummies with food prepared with LOVE and HOPE,” Bea wrote in her Instagram post.
