Be Clear on Cancer: Know the Easiest and Fastest Way to Fight this Killer Disease
In a recent study, cancer is the third leading cause of morbidity and mortality in the Philippines. With the high prevalence of cancer, specifically breast cancer in the country, taking at least 16 percent of the 50,000 cases diagnosed with cancer (2010 Philippine Cancer Facts and Estimates), medical authorities stress that cancer is a preventable and curable disease. Also, understanding the disease can make a difference in helping every Filipino be proactive in the battle against cancer.
This Saturday, 6 September, Prof Dr. Li-zhi Niu, one of the world’s renowned oncologists, will give a talk on cancer entitled “Be Clear on Cancer: Know the Easiest and Fastest Way to Fight this Killer Disease,” from 10am to 2pm, at the Passion Restaurant, at Maxim’s Hotel in Resorts World Manila.
Dr. Li-zhi Niu is the president, chief surgeon, and oncology of mini-invasive surgery from Fuda Cancer Hospital-Guangzhou, recognized as one of the best cancer centres of the world known for minimally invasive treatments.
“When treating and dealing with our patients, as ethical medical workers, it is our responsibility to relieve their pain with the best technology and the best possible service,” Niu said.
Niu is a specialist in minimal invasive cancer therapies. He has extensive experience in cryotherapy for cancer types including lung, pancreas, liver, prostate, kidney, esophagus, stomach, intestine, thyroid carcinoma and others. A prolific author, he as already published 46 medical papers in cancer treatment.
Niu led the 3rd International Forum on Cancer Treatment nd the 1st General Congress of Asian Society of Cryosurgery in Guangzhou last 15-17 August, with top doctors, cryosurgery surgeons, scientists, and professors from leading hospitals in China, Japan, Europe, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and University of Michigan.
New concept and strategies on cancer treatment, genomic medicine, prevention and treatment through cancer stem cell and vaccine, cancer prediction and “green treatment” were highlighted in the congress.
