BDJ Rendezvous: Rise to the Daily Grind

Going 9 years strong, the BDJ Power Planner has proven it’s more than just a planner – it’s now a community of empowered Filipinas! Throughout the year, they hold a series of events for their Bellas. One of them is the BDJ Rendezvous, which is an afternoon learning where guest speakers share with BDJ Girls their insights on lifestyle, career, fashion and beauty. The first BDJ Rendezvous of the year was filled with fun and motivation as like-minded girls interacted with experts from their respective industries.

Last February 28, over 100 Bellas were gathered at Glorietta 5, Activity Center for the BDJ Rendezvous: Rise to the Daily Grind to meet new friends, rise above the norms, get out of comfort zones and discover tips to help them live a better version of themselves.

As soon as the registration opened, Bellas got the chance to enjoy the Pond’s photowall and got a free Pearl Cleansing Gel sample from the booth after posting about #PondsPearlCleansingGel. The lovely DJ, Model, and TV Host Tracy Abad welcomed the girls and hosted the event. The event started with a quick game to break the ice – the Celeteque Challenge! Three winners got a Celeteque travel kit for acing the mini-game.

The first talk, Getting Fit the Right Way, was facilitated by Ms. Tanya Dela Cruz of One Life Studio. She revealed how yoga affected her life in her health, healing and well-being, and shared tips on how to debunk improper exercise practices. She also taught Bellas a simple exercise on how to wake oneself up in the morning!

Ms. Catherine Kamping, the second resource person for the next talk“#makeithappen Monday”, inspired the girls to rise above the norms –  even during a busy day at work! A quotable quote from the Philippine Youth Employment Network founder:  “To make things happen, one has to overcome fear, rejection, failure, risks, and do more.”

 BDJRISE_OVERVIEW OF EVENT

Girls were given a short break and a sweet surprise from Browhaus – girls who had Browhaus logos stuck under their seats were given lash moisturizers for free!

Renowned fashion stylist Ms. Bea Constantino was also at the event for the third talk – “Fashion in a New Perspective” where she shared her ups and downs as a woman of style. She gave pieces of advice on how to say no to fashion excuses (e.g., “no budget” and “I’m not a fashionista”), and left the Bellas with her inspiring line, “we manifest our thoughts, so we can be anyone and anything”.

After a yummy merienda from Big Mama, Pond’s girl, Ms. Nicole Andersson graced the event to share her Beautiful Story and her tips on how to geta bare minimum no-makeup look. With a charm that’s totally captivating, the Bellas were convinced to try out the latest innovation from Pond’s!

Last but not the least, Ms. Jen Horn, chief collaborator of Muni.com.ph (a collaborative community that advocates for mindful living) encouraged Bellas to maximize impact in their communities, minimize impact on the environment, and ultimately, help them live lives of less guilt and more meaning. Our favorite line from her: “Take the time to think about the things you wanna do.”

In between talks, the early bird Bellas got the chance to grab prizes during raffle draws – thanks to the event sponsors: 360, Azta, Bulgogi Brothers, Canon, Celeteque, Dermclinic, Goody, Mister Donut, Modern Shanghai, Pond’s, Serenitea, SM Parisian, Spectrumed, Status Salon, Wacoal, Wingstop, Wrangler, and ZAP. Bellas also took home lootbags and enjoyed delicious snacks from Mister Donut at the end of the program.
