Walls will tumble down in the city that we love as the award-winning English rock band Bastille storms Manila for the first time. Karpos Multimedia kicks off 2015 by bringing you Bastille Live in Manila on January 5, 2015 at the World Trade Center!

The four-piece led by singer-songwriter Dan Smith and completed by Chris Wood (drums, synthesized drums, backing vocals), William Farquarson (guitars, backing vocals) and Kyle Simmons (synthesizers, keyboards, bass, backing vocals) shot to international fame with strong singles ‘Pompeii’ and ‘Bad Blood’, along with infectious tracks, ‘Things We Lost In The Fire’, ‘Oblivion’, ‘Laura Palmer’ and many more.

Bastille seemed to be everywhere in the past couple of years. Starting out with support slots for Emeli Sandé and Two Door Cinema Club, as well as touring with Muse, the band has now become an in-demand headliner, having a number of successful tours and appearances at major music festivals, including Coachella. Their music has been heard on The Sims 3: Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries and in an acclaimed performance in Saturday Night Live. The band’s rock star status was confirmed after winning the coveted Best Breakthrough Act Award in the 2014 BRIT Awards. Their debut album Bad Blood topped the UK Albums Chart, successfully charted in the U.S. Billboard 200 along with several other countries, and was the biggest selling digital album of 2013. There is no doubt that Bastille has gone far quickly, having already achieved quite a commercial success since the band’s formation in 2010.

Melancholy and metaphor work together in Bastille’s music, fused with ranging earworm choruses that spread like wild fire among listeners.  Though written as a love song, their hit single ‘Pompeii’ is an anthem that could easily serve as background music to an all-out youth revolt. Most of the songs in their Bad Blood record (reissued as All This Bad Blood) are familiar-sounding tales of the rollercoaster between oblivion and depression, masquerading as dance tracks due to the upbeat tunes that sound even richer in a live performance.

Dan and the boys are bringing Bastille’s music to Philippine shores as they kick start 2015 with a must-see high power rock show that will get hips shaking and fists pumping in the air. Heart-swelling melodies are sure to sweep Filipino music fans off their feet. All this and more at Bastille Live in Manila!
