A note from the Artist:
Every year numerous typhoons pass over the Philippines, sometimes leaving entire cities under water. This year alone (2013), the government declared a state of calamity in over half a dozen municipalities due to typhoon “Maring”. During these times of crisis, it is hard not to notice the strength and resolve of the Filipino people.

Though floodwaters sweep away their cars, homes, and possessions, heads are still held high, and the Filipino spirit is not broken. As long as they are surrounded by those they care about, they are able to regard calamities as just a mild set back.

I’ve personally grabbed a shovel, packed relief bags, and scrubbed the walls of mud-filled homes; but this time I wanted to see if I could do something more. I set out to write this song with the goal of illustrating and praising how “waterproof” the Filipino heart keeps proving to be. Now, a song alone doesn’t necessarily provide any relief, so “Waterproof” will be available for purchase online, with the proceeds going to help fund typhoon relief organizations. So if you’re feeling charitable, or happen to enjoy the song, please download a copy today! https://kianransom.bandcamp.com
