The battery life of smartphones has always been an issue. If you use your phone all day, the battery drains fast, especially if you use the Internet. I have tried many powerbank brands and many of them only charge my phone once (if I’m even that lucky). I’ve been always on the lookout for the perfect powerbank – one that is lightweight and can charge my phone to a 100% at least twice.
I had been hearing good things about Anker powerbanks. Some of my friends told me they can charge phones up to 5 times, but I didn’t believe them, so I had to try one for myself.
I got the Anker PowerCore 1040. As soon as I got the box, I was impressed by the packaging.
The box has the powerbank itself in it, as well as a charging cable and pouch.
According to the box, Anker is the leading USB charging brand in the US and has over 10 million users. Anker products are also impact-tested so you won’t have to worry dropping them and ending up with them in pieces. They are also temperature-tested, being able to endure -40 degrees to 158 degrees featherweight.
The design is very sleek and it is not like the others that are too heavy. The weight is 240 grams, making it perfect to carry around in your pocket or in your bag.
There are two output sockets, so you can charge two gadgets at the same time. When the powerbank is full, it can charge my iPhone 5 five times or an iPhone 6 four times. I also tried it with an iPad, which it was able to fully charge twice.
Unlike other powerbanks that I’ve tried, the Anker PowerCore 10400 quickly charged my gadgets. My iPhone 5 can be charged 100% in a little more than an hour. It doesn’t slow down when you use the two output ports or charge two gadgets simultaneously, either.
Also, when you have a powerbank, it can tangle your phone cable because you have to carry it around or put it inside your bag; so having a nice sturdy phone cable is just as important.
I got the Anker Nylon Lightning Cable with my powerbank because my iPhone charger was already breaking and the lacing I placed didn’t really help.
The cable is available in Silver, Black and Gold, but I got the silver one as it looks similar to the original charger. You won’t have to worry about your Apple gadget not charging, either, because this Anker Cable is Apple MFI Certified, which means it is compatible with Apple devices.
The cable is a bit stiff, but that’s a good thing because it is harder to break.
Compared to my old charging cable, the Anker cable looks sturdier. The design looks good as the wire itself has a braided pattern, which protects the wiring inside. Its length is three feet long and is just right for charging with a socket or through a powerbank.
It takes a lot to take care of your gadgets and you should never compromise with fake accessories that can harm them.
