I have a lot of memories with Anberlin. I still remember the first time I heard about the band and the first time that I actually heard their music. I remember lying there and thinking, “Wow. This is music.” It’s been a love affair since then. The first time I saw Anberlin in concert was actually when I moved to Manila for the first time. It was my first Manila concert and remains to be, to this day, one of the very few concerts that I actually bought early tickets to and stood in line super early for.
Now that they’re performing their final show in Manila, I feel like they have come full circle and I have come full circle. Still, going to the Anberlin Live in Manila concert on September 13 (more details here) comes with a heavy heart and I already know that I will be crying through most of it. All of the memories that come with their epic songs will come flooding back and I will be smack in the midst of it all taking it all in.
