When in Manila, come rain or shine, count on food aficionados to be at any food related event. Last July 29, Asian Food Channel (AFC) hosted its own food fair at Eastwood Mall Open Park dubbed AFC’s 7107 Eats .

Some of the dishes at AFC’s 7107 Eats were prepared by established brands like Selecta, Lady’s Choice and Carb Trim to name a few. Bagoong Club, J Cupcakes and General’s Lechon were a few of the emerging product brands that handed out samples of their specialties.
Mallgoers and foodies alike were treated to AFC’s 7107 Eats which ranged from mouthwatering banana splits prepared on site, cupcakes, bagoog rice, lechon, sausages, fresh buko juice and a whole lot more!

In line with AFC’s 7107 Eats Philippine islands’ theme, three culinary schools participated and shared their unique food offerings.
Center for Culinary Arts, Manila or CCA cooked for Luzon island. Of the two dishes they prepared, I really liked the Quesong Puti on Whole Wheat Toast!

Since the Visayas region is known for their pastries, Global Academy made the famous butterscotch and decorated their booth with colorful masks inspired by Bacolod City’s Masskara Festival.

Genting Star Tourism Academy prepared not just one but three dishes to represent Mindanao, which is the largest of the 3 major islands in the country.

AFC’s 7107 Eats also prepared a program which showcased the cooking prowess of these culinary schools. CCA and Genting showed us how to cook the dishes they gave away while Global Academy showed us how to make pancit molo with a gourmet twist.
In between the cooking demonstrations, AFC’s 7107 Eats participants were treated to raffle prizes and games.

Despite the overcast skies and persistent rains, AFC’s 7107 Eats was well received by the public.
