ADHOC LIMITLESS: The Biggest College Party Just Went Unli!

 

What is unlimited When In Manila? With almost anything being tagged as “Unli”, wouldn’t it be nice if there was something we could call an unli party? Well, the UP Junior Marketing Association (UP JMA) must have heard our wishful thinking when they came up with ADHOC: Limitless, held last February 22, 2014 at the World Trade Center!

Marko Yambao, a creatives officer for ADHOC: Limitless tells When In Manila that they wanted the theme “Limitless” because “ADHOC has evolved into a lifestyle and the party goes beyond the night. It’s limitless because the party has elevated from just being the biggest party in the metro into something that’s synonymous to the party lifestyle already. So pag sinabing ADHOC, ‘ay ADHOC ka teh!’. It already connotes that you live the party lifestyle!”

 

With that being said, did this semester’s ADHOC: Limitless really bring the ‘Limitless’?

 

Yes, they did! Here are 5 reasons why I think so:

 

1. UNLI-CROWD

The ADHOC crowd has definitely gotten bigger and better through the years! From just being attended by UP Diliman people, the event has evolved through marketing, word-of-mouth and social media, to finally greeting attendees from other big universities like DLSU and Ateneo. Eventually, ADHOC became a jumble of college students from different campuses, making it the biggest college party in the metro!

2. UNLI-DRINKS

With such a big crowd, you can never have enough booze! I remembered asking 22-year-old Dawid Thomaskeck from Germany what the difference of an ADHOC event was for him compared to the parties that he attended in his country, to which he quickly answered – the drinks!

Apparently, all that you have to do in ADHOC is go to the bar and get your drinks. In Germany, you have to ask for what you want first before they serve it to you. He also loves the fact that the ADHOC entrance fee comes with unlimited drinks! Yup. There was unli-drinks from San Miguel, Smirnoff, El Hombre, and more!

3. An UNLI-CAUSE

Just imagine drinking and dancing while helping out at the same time! Another factor that contributes to ADHOC’s success is its advocacy or cause. Marko Yambao tells When In Manila that apart from the prestige of the event, their proceeds go to Kids Integrated Development Through Schooling (KIDS) Program, where they fund children from grade school to high school, and also for their Business Administration scholars.
