ABCs of Disaster Medicine is a combined seminar and workshop activity held annually. This event aims to increase and develop medical students’ awareness of disaster medicine in the local setting and provide them with an understanding of the role of healthcare professionals in times of disasters. It’ll be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 (Sat), Room 320 at the St. Martin de Porres Building.

ABCs of Disaster Medicine is an event tailored to provide basic skills apt for medical students (and healthcare providers at heart!) when disasters such as super typhoons or even the “Big One” strikes. Morning sessions allow attendees to learn skills on first aid training and basic life support sessions. The afternoon session features application of those learning as they join a race plotted in a mass casualty and disaster scenario around the UST campus! Prizes await the winners of the Disaster Medicine race.
