The love for music and film will not only fill the air but your souls as well, as Para Sa Sining offers us KATHA: Musika X Pelikula, “Bagong Simoy.”  In line with the organization’s mission, “Katha” which means “creation” in English, is a series of bi-monthly productions which merges two art forms.  Katha aims to provide a platform for Filipino artists and enthusiasts to freely share, experience, and celebrate various forms and genres of art through collaboration.

Running on their second season, Para Sa Sining brings us another diverse roster of emerging and established musicians and filmmakers at Katha: Musika x Pelikula.  Featuring short films live scored by an individual musician or a band, the production was first launched in 2014 at the Mabuhay Restop, Manila.

This October, Para Sa Sining welcomes another breath-taking season of productions that will focus on the central theme of wind. Accordingly, different forms or faces of the wind will be guiding the curation of productions throughout the year. To officially commence this season, Katha: Musika x Pelikula will be held on October 14 and 15, at the Century City Mall Events Space 1, Makati City.  The production will be carrying the theme “Bagong Simoy,” which will associate wind with life and kite with the youth.  Following this theme, the event’s production design will revolve around a kite dancing in the breeze to signify how the youth goes through life with art— the wind that allows them to see and feel greater heights.

Katha: Musika x Pelikula: “Bagong Simoy” will have two sets, one at 8 pm on October 14, Friday, and another at 8 pm on October 15, Saturday.  Para Sa Sining will also be launching “Katha X,” a special event that will introduce some of the collaborative performances that will be part of Sikuna: A Collaborative Arts Festival on May 2017.  Giving us a peak of Sikuna, Katha X will showcase various performances on spoken word, poetry, music, film, and kite flying exhibitions. The first Katha X will be at 3 pm on October 15, Saturday.

Regular tickets to Katha are at Php 280.00 each.  Tickets may be purchased online through mybondle.com.  However, online charges may apply.  Door charge is at Php 330.00.  MyBondle Passes are also available at Php 500.00.
