DC Shoes x Wu-Tang Collaboration Launch @ Shangrila Mall
When in Manila and you’re either a DC Shoes or a Wu-Tang Clan fan (or…even both), then you’re in for a treat. Recently, DC Shoes and the Wu-Tang Clan collaborated to release some limited edition apparel to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Wu-Tang’s “Enter the Wu-Tang” album. The DC Shoes x Wu-Tang Collaboration launch happened at Shangrila Mall last November 19th and it was attended by the media and some fans of DC Shoes. The store was almost packed as media and fans alike gathered to see the unveiling of the DC Shoes X Wu-Tang Collaboration set of clothing and that included your fine folks at wheninmanila.com.

Before the unveiling, Dino Gilladoga and Eds Yu of DC Shoes Philippines said that they are proud to be one of the only 3 countries to sell the limited edition DC Shoes X Wu-Tang gear upon its release. They added that both DC Shoes and the Wu-Tang Clan had a profound influence on the skating world during their respective release in 1993. Both entities revolutionized the skating scene with DC shoes giving skaters some amazing footwear while the beats of the Wu-Tang Clan provided the best background soundtrack on their skater mix tapes.

The moment of truth arrived as they unveiled the DC Shoes x Wu-Tang gear underneath the cloth and it was amazing. On display were three items that symbolized not only DC Shoes, but also a tribute to the Wu-Tang.

There was a black wool peacoat, a cap and a pair of leather high boots. Each item of the DC Shoes x Wu-Tang gear displayed the artwork of the “Enter the Wu-Tang” album.

Once the unveiling was done, everyone had a nice treat of free food and drinks inside the venue. All in all, the DC Shoes x Wu Tang Collaboration Launch was a nostalgia trip for this author. The product launch catapulted me back in the 90s where I recall certain Wu-Tang Clan hits such as “Protect Ya Neck” blasting on the cassette player. DC Shoes Philippines will have the limited edition of the DC Shoes x Wu-Tang Clan wear on their Shangrila, Trinoma and Sneakpeek Shangrila branches starting November 20th onwards.
