8 Super Fun Activities You Can Enjoy at the Oishi Snacktacular Event 2016

The Oishi Snacktacular Event is something I’ve wanted to go to since I saw the ‘human claw machine’ that they had in the North last year. Being a South girl, however, the trip simply wasn’t possible; so I was more than excited when I heard that the Oishi Snacktacular Event 2016 would be in SM Mall of Asia this year.

We went early this morning to enjoy the different activities that Oishi has in store for their loyal fans this weekend. The fun-filled affair will be held until July 17 and trust me when I say there are so many fun things to do that you should definitely bring your family and friends to make the most of it. And oh, bring your own car if you can to stash all the goodies in that you’ll be bringing home with you.

Take note that you will be given an Oishi passport at the beginning of the event where your points will be logged. The one with the highest score at the end of the event will get Php1,000 worth of gift certificates from Oishi, as well as a 4ft Oishi bag filled with Oishi goodies!

8. Oishi Pack and Pose

I highly recommend you do this activity first when you’re not sweaty, haggard and tired yet. Basically, all you have to do is take a photo with your crew to ensure your memories are kept alive. Make sure to post it on social media for an extra 50 points on your Oishi passport!

7. World of O, Wow Booth

This year’s Snacktacular is made even more exciting, thanks to the 70th anniversary of Liwayway Marketing Corporation, the company behind Oishi. At the World of O, Wow booth, you can get a glimpse of Oishi snacks available all over the world and even taste some of them, including Potato Makado from Thailand and Pillows Buko from Vietnam!

6. Make Your Own Snack Booth

Let your creativity shine and make your very own Oishi snack at the Make Your Own Snack booth. Choose two bases from Oishi Prawn Crackers, Ridges Potato Chips, Corn Clubs, Marty’s Veggie Chicharon, Potato Fries and Tortilla Chips and then choose two flavors from barbecue, beef, cheese, garlic and salt, ketchup, kimchi, nori, pizza, salt and vinegar, sweet and spicy, wasabi, and white cheddar.

I opted for Oishi Prawn Crackers and Ridges Potato Chips with kimchi and salt and vinegar. Best decision ever!

5. O-Twirl

Don’t miss out on O-Twirl, either, because that Choco Chug ice cream of theirs is absolutely amazing. In fact, it’s so good, you might want to go without the toppings altogether.

Of course, I still got myself some Pillows Choco and Wafu Creamy Leche Flan, though. :p

4. Snack Shack

At the Snack Shack, you’ll be given a giant 2ft Oishi pack with a design of your choice and you have 60 seconds to fill it up with all of the Oishi goodies that you can! My initial plan was to get one of everything; but the minute I stood there in front of all of those Oishi goodies, I started rethinking my decision. Suffice to say, I ended up with a bag with all of my personal favourites instead. No regrets!

3. Slush C+

At first, I thought the Slush C+ booth would be my least favorite because who thinks about Slush C+ when there are so many choices of snacks to devour around you? I was wrong, though. Halfway into the event, I was longing for something cold and refreshing to drink, and Slush C+ was the ideal refreshment for that.

I opted for the grapefruit flavor, but they had a calamansi option, too!

2. Cuckoo Blaster

For this activity, yoll have to put on a cute Cuckoo sit and try to catch as many balls as possible. The balls will be thrown at you tennis ball practice style. Don’t worry, though; they don’t hurt! However, be warned as this activity isn’t actually as easy as it looks.

Be prepared to move around a lot to get as many balls you can!

1. Oishi Snack Catcher

Of course, Oishi Snacktacular wouldn’t be complete without the crowd favorite: the Oishi Snack Catcher! This is the place where you’ll get strapped up and guided into a gigantic pool of Oishi snacks where you have to grab all of the treats that you can with your own hands (and legs)! It’s hard to come up with a strategy for this, so my tip is to just have fun!!!

Aside from the interactive booths, get to meet Oishi’s iconic Team O members: Daniel Padilla, Kathryn Bernardo, Ramon Bautista, Alex Gonzaga, Slater Young, and Elmo Magalona!

To turn up the O, Wow factor even better, Maine Mendoza, Oishi Ribbed Crackling’s endorser, will be introduced as Team O’s newest member and she will be joining the fun through Facebook Live this Sunday!

It was indeed a day full of fun and laughter! I especially love that the event was 8-bit inspired – absolutely perfect for my geeky heart. Make sure you don’t miss it!
