As we embrace the digital world, the more we become busier in our lives. Since we are transitioning to everything with just “a tap away,” (like online fast food deliveries), we often neglect the satisfaction in making scrumptious meals for our family.
But you know what? I don’t blame you. As a mother of four, cooking is just one of the hats I wear every day. I do get tired too, but, just because we’re preoccupied doesn’t mean we can’t make a quick and indulging meal, right? Realistically, there are gazillion quick recipe ideas for us to try. But, these bread recipes should definitely be in your arsenal too. You better roll-up your sleeves and start reading this article. Let’s start reading them, shall we?
Classic (Manic) Mondays – CornDeSal (Corned Beef With Egg Pan De Sal)
Ideally, breakfast is vital because it breaks the overnight fasting period. But lunch and dinner are equally important too. Mondays could be the busiest day of the week, so break the “no-breakfast-so-busy-Monday” habit by preparing this quick corned beef with cheesy egg de sal sandwich!
Ingredients:
- Gardenia pan de sal
- Eggs (2)
- Cheese (any kind but we used mozzarella in this video)
- Corned Beef (canned)
- Oil (we used olive oil but any oil will do)
How to make it: beat the eggs then set aside. In a small pan, put oil and then cook the egg. When it’s nearly done put the cheese and set aside. On the same pan, put a teaspoon of oil and start sautéing the onion and corned beef.
Time for preparation and cooking: 7 minutes
Voila! Your CornDeSal is ready!
Choose Healthy Tuesdays– H.L.T (Ham, Lettuce, and Tomato) Sandwich
Bacon is a bit expensive. So, to avoid getting broke, we’re going to use ham for the classic HLT sandwich.
So, for this sandwich you’ll need:
- Gardenia Classic White Bread Thick Slice
- Ham (any brand/kind)
- Lettuce
- Tomato
- Cheddar Cheese (Any variant will do)
- Butter
How to make it: Cook the ham in butter instead of oil. This is to make it tastier, so you don’t need to put mayonnaise or any dressing. Get one slice and place it on a plate. Put the ham, lettuce, and tomato, on top of the other.
Time for preparation and cooking: 5 minutes
And just like that, you, your friends, and family, can enjoy a bountiful HLT sandwich!
Wheat-y Wednesday – Classic French toast with Bacon
If you don’t have the peanut butter and jelly to save you for the day, a glass of milk, butter, and a bag of freshly baked Gardenia Wheat Raisin loaf will definitely make you the “Martha Stewart” of sandwiches! Turn your boring Wednesdays to a “Wheat-y Wednesday” with a sumptuous French Toast!
What you’ll need:
- Gardenia High Fiber Wheat Raisin Loaf
- ¼ cup of Milk
- 3 eggs (depends on how many are you eating)
- Butter
- Bacon (optional)
How to make it: In a medium or large bowl, beat the eggs together with the milk. Spread the pan generously with butter. Dip each slice of Gardenia Wheat Raisin loaf into the mixture and slowly toast in the pan.
It’s easy as 1-2-3, right? Honestly, I’m not a fan of raisins, but when my friends and I tasted it, it was amazingly satisfying!
Time for preparation and cooking: 4 minutes
