The National Intercollegiate Genetics Quiz Contest (NIGQC) is the flagship national event of the organization that has been running for 5 years already and is highly anticipated by various universities and colleges across the country. The prime end of this activity is to raise the appreciation and inclination of college students towards the science of Genetics through a one-day quiz contest. NIGQC still continues to soar high with its last year’s record of participation by 15 universities around the country with which UP Diliman reigned as victors following the triumph of Ateneo de Manila University back in 2013.
This year’s focus will be on Medical Genetics, with the theme: “Medical Genetics: Paving the Way Towards Advancements in Health Sciences”. Medical Genetics is a field of human genetics primarily concerned with the genetic materials, their structure, function, effects on humans, and their role in genetic disorders.
NIGQC will be held on November 7, 2015 at the University of the Philippines – Los Baños.
