1. Start being active.

Solenn admits to having the determination to do it. She says she started five years ago when she first tried out boxing and then eventually started to do a lot of yoga. Isabelle points out that she has always been active.

“I was kinda like a tomboy growing up. So I liked to play sports like football, basketball, tennis, horseback riding, and now recently I’m doing triathlon and running. So it’s always been a part of my life.”

It is now or never. If you have not been active before, now is the time to start.

2. Workout everyday.

“At least five times a week, if I can’t do it everyday.”Solenn

Training is key. Take it from Isabelle and Solenn themselves, who – even with their busy schedules – still find time to train at least 5 times a week, if not everyday. Remember: you can’t reach your goal if you only begin when you feel like doing it. You can probably start by doing it at least twice a week and then increasing the frequency weekly until you have made progress within the succeeding days.

Side note: It is a general rule that you wait 48-72 hours between each workout to allow your different muscle groups to recuperate. Be careful not to “overdo” one muscle group, either.

3. Find a sport that you love.

Isabelle is into squash and swimming – two sports she really enjoys. We learn to ‘love’ something for different reasons. Whatever the reason may be, make sure to find something you are passionate about. That way, investing yourself in it time and effort-wise will not be a challenge.

4. Have someone to look up to.

Even celebrities like Solenn and Isabelle have their own inspirations. Solenn regards Angelina Jolie and Beyonce as hers while Isabelle looks up to Oprah as one of her female heroes.

“I think she really helps change the world.”Isabelle on Oprah.

Your choice of admiration need not be on the basis of the perfect body or wealth, but based on the trust you have placed on that person to make a difference in this world.

Having a good inspiration can definitely help you stay motivated, not only in sports, but in life, as well. Since we are talking about getting fit, though, I am sure you have already seen different fitspirations on social media. A lot of us (including myself) envy girls who have “thigh-gaps”. Always keep in mind, though, that some girls are naturally skinny and we are all born with different body types; so never go to the extent of starving yourself just to achieve your weight goals.

Be fit, but be healthy!

5. Fashion DOES help.

Looking presentable in public is something we owe to ourselves AND to the people around us. However, everything will still depend up to you. Aside from that, wearing a cute workout outfit can really be a motivating factor.

“You want to go to the gym, take a selfie, use Instagram and share it with your friends. adidas plays a very important role in my life because I wear it every single day.” – Isabelle

So it does help when you are all decked out in a stylish adidas outfit!
