When In Manila, you should not miss the yearly Pyromusical experience! Now on its 5th year, the participating countries never ceased on making us gape in awe as they lit up our skies with their amazing fireworks synced  simultaneously with their chosen tunes.
Â
It was my second year to experience the Pyromusical and I was glad that I made the right decision. My first experience wasn’t a charmer because a) we got stuck in a very bad traffic leading to b) we missed the first part of the show which was really disappointing. So this time, I’m happy to say that we are latecomers no more and we finished the show from start to end — and it was so amazing. Finland and Canada were the ones competing last weekend and what can I say, being the 2nd and 1st Runner-Ups (respectively) of last year’s competition, they indeed delivered a wonderful show of music and skylighters last Saturday.
Here are some photos that will surely convince you to catch the Pyromusical competition this coming weekend!Â
Â
First up – Finland! They were represented by Oy Pyroman Finland Ltd.
Â
5th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition: The Skylighters of Finland and Canada!
Â
Finland used the popular hits like Girl on Fire by Alicia Keys, Burn by Ellie Goulding and Miley’s Wrecking Ball to name a few. Notice how their song choices are very related to fire (works).
Â
   Â
Finland gave a blast of a show (pun intended) but I found some parts of their show not in perfect timing with their music, technical issue or not, it would have been a lot better if the timing was spot on.
After Finland’s entry, there was a short break for the viewers to grab some snacks, go to the loo or just stroll around.Â
Best area during the pyromusical — by the bay! There are lots of food concessionaires so getting hungry or thirsty is not a problem.
Â
Canada’s next! Represented by the Royal Pyrotechnie of Canada.
I was honestly looking forward to Canada’s turn because somewhat I feel that they’re gonna be having a spectacular entry this year and I wasn’t wrong!
Â
Canada had me with their show that had a storyline and plus points that they used one of the soundtracks of the well-known show, Sherlock (BBC) and their timing was flawless. I’m kind of rooting for them to win. The fangirl in me was delighted with the little Sherlock surprise and more so when they gave an almost nonstop show of light and color bursts.
Â
I was honestly torn between taking photos or just stop and see the fireworks.
A super spectacular show from Canada indeed!Â
I had so much fun that night and I went home with a smile on my face and chattering non-stop about my experience. Awesome show, Finland and Canada! Goodluck on the competition! So When In Manila, don’t miss the last weekend of the 5th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition with USA and Philippines on March 22, 2014!Â
