Before reading about the tips on how to be a successful online entrepreneur, allow me to share with you the story of my friend who worked his way to success from humble beginnings to now running his own successful online business for more than a decade.
Over a decade ago during his college years, Moe Pinpin started a small time “sideline” in selling pre-paid call cards which he would offer to his classmates and professors that were easily payable within 2 weeks. According to Moe, he was able to buy all his needs during his schooling and even sustained him until he graduated Magna Cum Laude in his class. After 8 months of resting after graduation, he unfortunately spent all his savings leaving him with none. Despite that, because of his faith, discipline and entrepreneurial experience, Moe wasn’t afraid of starting over again. Unlike most business owners, Moe didn’t come from a rich family nor from a clan of big time entrepreneurs. He was just like any other Pinoy with a dream and with a burning desire to succeed.
In 2002, Moe started working for BPI Family Savings Bank as an Assistant Manager. Even while having a well paying 9 to 5 job, he continued to pray to God to grant him his own business.
In 2004, Moe discovered the beneficial effects of glutathione through a friend when he needed an effective treatment for his body acne. Aside from effectively healing his acne problem, he also noticed that his complexion became fairer. He was so impressed and believed in the product so much, that he decided to sell them online. During those years, people hardly knew what glutathione and its positive effects were, so it was sold at a very high price. He was one of the few who offered this product then, thus, making him one of the pioneers who introduced glutathione in the Philippine market.
That same year, “Magic Potions” was born. Back then, he would do meet-ups and deliveries after office hours despite feeling tired and lacking sleep. He really made a lot of effort and sacrificed a lot of time when he was starting out. He also poured his heart and soul in promoting his products online by posting ads and promos which resulted to gaining loyal customers not only locally but also worldwide. Due to the good practices he developed during his college years with his “sideline,” it didn’t take too long for Moe to gain more clients and earn fast.
As sole proprietor in 2005, he was blessed to get a spot to open a stall at Goldcrest Glorietta which became his primary meet-up/pick-up place for clients. Because of his growing business and increasing demand, he finally gave up corporate life in 2006 to be a fulltime entrepreneur.
In 2008, he opened his main office in Makati and in 2009, opened 3 more stalls in Ortigas, Sampaloc Manila and Alabang so his growing local clientele would have easy-access pick-up locations (accepting cash and credit card payments) aside from primarily operating as an online shop. Along with the opening new branches, he also slowly started introducing his own line of Magic Potions products with the main goal of providing high quality items that are proven safe, effective, yet affordable, along with fast easy shipping and impeccable customer service!

5. Have a “Meaningful” Goal
You should have an ultimate goal… not only to become rich, but a goal that is meaningful to keep you motivated in becoming successful. For me, my ultimate goal is to help my family, other people in need and have my own home for the aged in the future.
4. Work Hard
You have to work hard. Treat your business like your baby. Devote a lot of your time in order for it to grow. Tediously work for it and even sacrifice working late hours especially during its early stages. Work hard. Don’t complain. Be positive and be happy despite being overly busy.
3. Save! Save! Save!
Don’t spend too much! Do not live beyond your means. The only time you should buy luxurious stuff is when you have earned much profit as a result of your hard work. Prioritize saving so you’ll have many options.
2. Believe in Good Karma
I believe in good karma. Kindness should be a way of life. Be kind not only to your employees, clients, suppliers but to everyone you interact with. Be generous and have good motives. Be good in mind, words and in actions. Trust me, this will impact your business a lot.
1. Always Pray and Be Thankful
Always pray and never forget God. Do not be greedy for God can easily take back what He gave you. Make it a habit to be grateful for all the blessings.
