5 Things You May Have Missed in The Spider-Man Homecoming Trailer

In just six days, the new Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer has gained over 18 million views and counting. Every Spidey fan got excited to finally see their favorite web-head with a Marvel Cinematic Universe favorite, Iron Man! We all enjoyed the trailer, but there are some things we noticed while watching this trailer over and over again—things you MAY have missed. Here are some of the easter eggs that may have passed your head while watching the trailer!

5. Homage to the comics

The first scene was a bank robbery which shows thugs disguised as the Avengers with Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor. This was a homage to the comics where Spider-Man stopped a heist in a local store. Although with a different set of characters, it was still a good nod to the comics.

Another homage to the comics is Spidey’s web wings! In Spider-Man’s first appearance in Amazing Fantasy #1 in 1961, our wall-crawling hero was debuted sporting the same web wings like in the trailer! I always loved the web winged look on Spider-Man! Good job, Marvel!

4. Geniuses Acknowledged

As seen on the trailers, if you paid close attention, you can see Howard Stark, father of Tony Stark, in the background where young Peter Parker is passing by. Bruce Banner was also on the top of their blackboard in one of their science laboratories, acknowledged as a brilliant man and a huge hulking creature.

3. Star Wars Memorabilia

In one scene where Peter is crawling upside down on the ceiling, we noticed an AT-AT on his shelf. His best friend was holding a Lego Death Star, there were Star Wars figures behind him, and also what seems to be an X-Wing. Since Disney owns both Star Wars and Marvel, it’s nice to see one fandom inside another fandom universe!

2. The Shocker

The jacket and the weapon practically gives it away, but until we find out if there’s a second villain or not, I’m gonna go ahead with my gut and say that this is indeed the Shocker, one of Spider-Man’s enemies in the comics, cartoons, games, and anything in between. We will finally get a chance to see Shocker and Vulture together if this is true. Could this be a possible set up for a Sinister Six movie? I hope so!!

1. Iron Man’s Mark 46 Armor

We all saw the Iron Man Mark 46 armor get trashed by Steve Rogers in Captain America: Civil War, but looks like the Mark 46 is a-okay and is fully operational—ready to kick some baddie butt and, hopefully, also now Captain America-proof.
