You have to admit—this is f*cking awesome. Fresh off his epic 4-gramophone sweep at this year’s Grammys, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are bringing their music to Manila for The Heist 2014 World Tour! While our calendars are marked and re-marked for the March 16 concert at MOA Arena, we want YOU (yes, you!) to get pumped with our top 5 songs by this dynamic duo. Set your devices up to maximum volume, but be warned–the awesomeness is contagious.

5. And We Danced
Before Macklemore became a worldwide hit, he hit the US airwaves with this tune. Michael Jackson references and male organ euphemisms aside, this song is equal parts fun and creepy, which perfectly encapsulates Macklemore himself. Plus it’s easy enough to follow when you know the lyrics. Who doesn’t love long, blonde and gold Macklemore? It’s just so weird it works!
4. White Walls
One of the newest songs off of the Heist, the fun begins with a Mexican-themed ninja standoff, if you can picture that. Everyone knows and loves Mac Jackson (as he calls himself in this vid) for adding positive messages to his songs. Meanwhile, this song is probably dedicated to his Cadillac.
3. Can’t Hold Us
If pumped is what you want, then Can’t Hold Us is the song that delivers in a two-bit punch. I dare you not to nod your head to my morning anthem. With a simple piano riff to keep things going, this is hands down my favourite song off the Heist. Plus, what’s more hipster than a rapper in a wolf hat?
2. Thrift Shop
Hey Macklemore…can we go thrift shopping? I know, I know. This is the song you’re just a little bit sick of, but trust me, watching the video will be like hearing the song again for the first time. Macklemore’s iconic look came right off this video with him in the fur and the scooter (and Ryan in the coat and skates right next to him!). Admit it, the ukay-ukay goer in you loves that there’s an instant theme song. Try not to nod along.
1. Same Love
This is the song that, for us, guaranteed the boys their Grammy win. In a world where LGBTQ rights are becoming a hot button issue, here comes this random guy singing about Same Love. Mary Lambert’s chorus is a perfect undertone to Macklemore’s more restrained tone. This video is the most straightforward among all of his videos, and surely the most culturally relevant. Rap has never touched as many lives as this song has. In case you haven’t heard, Queen Latifah married at least a dozen couples at the Grammy Awards when they performed this song. Sweet.
