“I don’t need a planner because I already have a notebook that I carry around. Plus it’s only going to take up space in my already heavy school bag.” Do you have similar sentiments? I used to be a planner hater until my uncle gave me a lightweight daily planner as a Christmas gift which I only started to use 2 months into 2015. It’s a lightweight daily planner that could double as a journal or diary. After a few days of writing things to do and random thoughts, I realized how fun and rewarding it was to own a daily planner!
I’ve been looking for the perfect planner for 2016 since Christmas break. 5. It helps you stay organized
The most obvious reason is that a daily planner is a tool that helps you manage your time and schedule your activities in a structured manner. It keeps track of all the things you have to accomplish this week as you jot those down on well laid out pages.
Each month starts with a monthly grid for the most important days to remember like a birthday or a holiday. The next pages display a daily schedule for to-dos, meetings, and notes.

My handwriting is “horrendous” (according to my accounting professor’s note on my test paper). I myself don’t understand some words I write when rushed. Consistency is my mantra this year. I’m hopeful that this planner will help me solidify my short and long-term goals, whether it’s mundane like buying essentials from the supermarket or an exciting one like going on an out of town trip.
