Eastern (particularly Korean) beauty trends in general differ from Western beauty trends — the latter places focus on sculpting the face and precision of makeup application, while the former is less about looking “on fleek” and more about placing emphasis on natural and youthful-looking makeup. While both are awesome in their own ways, this kind of aesthetic is seen mostly on K-Pop stars who are rocking them! “Aegyo sal”, which translates to “winning skin” is a coveted look in Korea — little fat deposits just under the eye like tiny eye bags. While some people go as far as getting plastic surgery to get them, others also simply sweep a bit of brown eyeshadow just by the lower lids to replicate the look. It’s to give their naturally Asian eyes the illusion that it’s more sunken and deep-set, closer to Caucasian eyes.
1. Do a “lip gradient”.
Instead of filling your lips in with a bold color, color is centered on the lips, gradually fading outwards. First, swipe on some concealer on your lips. Then, apply lip stain on the center of your lips, while blending it out with your finger in dabbing or patting motions. Another trick is to apply lipstick with a fluffy eyeshadow brush to look diffused and stained.
