4th Impact Speaks Up on Rumored $2 Million Record Deal

A few days ago, rumors spread on social media that Filipino all-girl group 4th Impact signed a $2 million record deal with Columbia Records.

According to rumors, the deal includes two studio albums and a six-month tour in North America and Europe. Articles even cited an interview with the LA Times, saying that one member divulged that they were contacted by Columbia Records after X Factor UK finished, but that they couldn’t announce it because of their existing contract.

The thing is, the article doesn’t exist.

UnrealityTV, a British entertainment website, contacted the representatives of the girls to clear the matter.

According to the rep:

There will be formal announcements if there are contracts signed for the band to any recording company. The management and the band will announce it on their social media pages and to our official fan pages as well.

However, the statement sounds vague. It could mean that there is no recording contract, but it also could mean that there is one, and that they’re just waiting for the right time to formally announce it.

4th Impact is a Filipino all-girl group composed of sisters Almira Cercado, Irene Cercado, Mylene Cercado and Celina Cercado. They joined the 12th season of X Factor UK, and impressed judges and fans with their powerful voices. Their performance of Christina Aguilera’s “Show Me How You Burlesque” got them a standing ovation, with judge Rita Ora calling their performance “absolute perfection.” They were voted off during the fifth week after the judges reached a deadlock and turned to the voting public.

They are currently performing at the X Factor live tour.
