Forty-five years after Derrida’s influential address at the Congrès international des Sociétés de philosophie de langue francaise, Colegio de San Lorenzo and St. Vincent School of Theology agreed to host the conference in order to outline not only the influence made by the opus in the areas of philosophy, communication, literature and language studies but also the uncharted prospects and possibilities for development which remain for it beyond these areas. We are very fortunate that four of today’s leading Derrida scholars have accepted our invitation to be the keynote speakers of the conference. They are Prof. Paul Patton of the University of New South Wales, Prof. Mark Raftery-Skehan, a visiting professor at the Ateneo de Manila University, Prof. Agustin Martin Rodriguez of the Ateneo de Manila University and Prof. Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak of Columbia University.
