Committed to upholding its legacy of leadership, service, and excellence, the Children’s Museum and Library, Inc. kicks off its year-long celebration of 60 years of service to God and nation with the 40th Annual Summer Conference and Work Camp of Junior Members and Teacher-Advisers to be held in Banaue Ethnic Village and Pine Forest Resort on May 16-20, 2018.

In line with this, the CMLI Junior Council – National Executive Board (JC-NEB) 2018 Batch Salinlahi invites all grade school and high school students from both public and private schools nationwide to take part in this five-day convention filled with activities geared towards camaraderie, leadership, social awareness, and talent development.

The 40th Annual Summer Convention will tackle the central theme of “Embrace Diversity and SHINE: Sustaining a Harmonious Impact towards Nation-building and Excellence.” Through this endeavor, the JC-NEB 2018 aims to help student delegates discover our rich indigenous roots and realize their valuable role in building our country’s future through a series of competitions, symposia, community immersions, and commission discussions (CD), which are regarded as the heart of the convention.

In the CDs, the participants will be assigned to different groups facilitated by an officer of the JC-NEB 2018 wherein they will have the chance to share their insights with fellow youth from all over the Philippines and know more about the convention’s theme through a series of group activities and group discussions.

Furthermore, the convention also features competitions for excellence and entertainment, both encouraging the participants to showcase their talents in friendly competition. The competitions for excellence are News Writing, Essay Writing, Poetry Writing, Extemporaneous Speaking, Photo Essay, Poster Making, and the Project Feasibility Study Defense. Meanwhile, the competitions for entertainment are Solo Singing, Talent Variety Show, and the Mr. and Ms. SummerCon 2018.

Besides these activities, the delegates are also welcome to join the symposium wherein an invited speaker who is an expert in his field will further explain the convention’s theme and inspire the participants to apply their learnings in their own communities.

Lastly, they will also get to explore Banaue and its landmarks, including the world-renowned Rice Terraces, through community immersions and city tours around the area to cap off their convention experience.
