Nothing spells comfort and luxury quite like The Ascott Limited’s newest development in Manila, who are also known as the name behind serviced residences such as the Somerset suites, Citadines and The Ascott Makati. Barely even a year old, the establishment is set to open more rooms and commercial spaces for occupancy in the future. We were lucky to have experienced an über cozy weekend stay, and we’ve found lots to love about our second home! Let me give you a few reasons why you should make The Ascott BGC your home-away-from-home in Manila!

  1. Location, Location, Location

The Ascott BGC is located smack in the middle of The Fort’s bustling business district, and is a convenient 3-minute walk from Bonifacio High Street, The Mind Museum and Burgos Circle. Its prime location allows you to experience all the great restaurants and commercial centers around the Fort with ease. We took full advantage of this by checking out some of the restaurants in the neighborhood during our stay.

This chef knows his stuff! Special thanks for making us the yummiest omelettes every morning!

My yummy curry omelette! (My second that day, no shame.)

  1. The Breakfast Buffet is Amazing!

Included in our stay was access to the breakfast buffet at The Ascott BGC’s very own Alta restaurant. After countless helpings of their robust-flavored Beef tapa and knockout Chorizo Negrense, I’m happy to say that their breakfast spread did not disappoint at all! But above all, it was my perfectly fluffy omelet that constantly stole the show. Kudos to Alta’s chef who manned the egg station each morning, and masterfully cooked each guest’s eggs to perfection.

This part of our suite made our stay feel like home 🙂

  1. All the Comforts of Home, in a 5-Star Setting

The Ascott BGC is primarily designed with the long-staying traveller in mind; each suite generally offers all the services and amenities one would need for a hassle-free stay. We were very pleased to discover that our sprawling suite came complete with a fully furnished kitchen (WITH espresso machine, electric kettle AND microwave oven), a washer/dryer, and an en suite bathroom with a massive bathtub! All these necessities seamlessly housed within such elegant and tasteful interiors. A definite two thumbs up for this!

  1. Service with a Smile 🙂

One thing we noticed during our stay was how warm and incredibly nice The Ascott BGC’s staff are! They were very patient and accommodating of our concerns and very gracious in their manner of service. This definitely made our stay all the more special! One concern I’ve encountered though was that I always had to call guest service twice to follow up on our requests. I really hope staff would improve on coordinating amongst themselves, as we’ve noticed this to be an issue during our stay. But considering them being a relatively new establishment, I have high hopes that they’ll be able to iron this out in the future.

Overall, we had a wonderfully comfortable weekend at our second home, and we wouldn’t mind staying a bit longer in our massive suite! We’re sure you’d feel the same!
