Makeup is a girl’s best friend, and also its worst enemy when it runs out! But if you can’t afford to shell out some of those hard-earned pesos, here are just a few makeup hacks that are easy on the eyes and easy on the budget as well!
4. Compact powder or blush broken into pieces? Don’t throw it away! First, put a film of plastic over the compact, and mash (yes, mash!) the product. Remove the plastic. Then, using little at a time, drop some alcohol over the mashed product until almost sponge-like. Then, use a tool with a flat surface like a spatula to smooth it over. Leave it to dry for a few hours or overnight! Voila, good as new.
3. In need of a new lip color? Use petroleum jelly and eyeshadow.
2. Need a new deep cleanser for makeup brushes? Mix 1 water, 1 part alcohol, and a drop of dishwashing liquid. Contain in a spray bottle, then spray it over the ends of the brush (never at the root or the metal that holds the hairs together). Wipe with tissue then leave your brushes to dry..
1. Running out of gel eyeliner? Get out a pencil eyeliner, hold it under the flame of a lighter for 30 seconds, then let it cool down for another 15 seconds. The result? Gel-worthy liner with a great smudge!
