3 Things that are Waiting for Your Traveling Soul Outside of Your Comfort Zone

3 Things that are Waiting for Your Traveling Soul Outside of Your Comfort Zone

Life inside an 8-5 job could be mundane for a self-confessed adventurer wannabe like me. Once in a while, I would visit airline websites, pretending to book a ticket to anywhere that I wanted to travel to. Most of the time, I’d research on new things to do and places to visit, and invite my friends to come with me – but to no avail. Every conversation would end with familiar phrases, like “Tagal pa ng sweldo eh”, “Paubos na yung VL ko”, and the eternal dilemma of working people, “Wala akong pera at time for it, daming kailangan bayaran”.

Pathetic and true, but the real thing here is I’m telling you to drag yourself out of your workplace. It’s great to go somewhere with your friends, but worry not, because even without them, being alone works just as fine. Here is a short and sweet list of what’s waiting for you outside of your comfort zone.

3 Things that are Waiting for Your Traveling Soul Outside of Your Comfort Zone

3. Serene Beaches

From Victory Liner Bus Terminal in Cubao to Crystal Beach Resort, San Narciso, Zambales

Fueled by the endless things to do in a nearby province, Zambales; I once went on a very random trip there – alone. It’s a 4-hour bus ride from the Victory Liner bus terminal in Cubao to Crystal Beach Resort in San Narciso, Zambales. The time leading there was overwhelming, but I only stayed there for 15 minutes or so, then immediately headed back home. It’s crazy and fulfilling at the same time. I was able to read so much from the book that I brought with me, some thoughts and decisions were carefully laid out the whole time I was waiting for the bus to reach the terminal, and the whole trip just fuelled the cliche idea that it’s not always about the destination, after all, but more about the journey.

2. Beautiful Landscapes

You don’t need to go too far to get amazing views like the pictures above. Tagaytay City, which is just an hour and a half ride away from Manila, boasts of this breathtaking landscape. It’s not as expensive as you think it is, either, because 1000 pesos is just enough for a day trip in the South’s little Baguio.

If you have the luxury of time and money, you can choose to book an Ilocos Tour for you and your friends. Last summer, we chose this Ilocos tour from Triple 8 Travel & Tours, which cost 3000 pesos all in all, except for lunch and dinner. It’s the perfect summer getaway because for just a cheap rate, you and your friends will surely enjoy Ilocos’ stunning landscapes and interesting history.

1. Romantic Sunsets

There’s no greater feeling than witnessing a beautiful sunset capping off either an adventure-filled or a stressful day. A couple of months ago, my friends and I went on a roadtrip to a beach in Lian, Batangas. We spent the whole day  swimming, eating, and just bonding. At the end of the day, every one of us watched the sunset and, just like that, called it a day.
