Everyone has that one “bes.” The person we can rely on for anything and everything, the one person who we know will be there in our times of need. We’re lucky if we have that one person, because we know we’re pretty much set for life.
These 15 people are lucky to have a “bes” they can count on forever. They shared with us the times they’re thankful for having them in their lives:
1. When times were tough
When I was in college, there was a sem na si bes ang nagpa-tuition sakin kasi I didn’t have money. And then when I didn’t have money or kulang for books and materials (I’m a bio major), sila bes ang to the rescue. We’re still besties to this day, and it’s been 14 years na since we met in college – Paula
2. When the bes left the friendzone
All my best friends are abroad studying and I wasn’t in a good place with my family, which made me decide not tell celebrate my 22nd birthday. My bes (here in the Philippines) was a little busy with midterms so I didn’t want to be a hassle to him since he’s been up late every night studying. But he promised we would have dinner on my birthday. It turns out that those late nights that he spent “studying” were actually spent creating a birthday video for me. 3. When people misunderstood the friendship

4. When your bes is also a bully
I have a new bes. He’s infuriating, a psycho, and most of the time, he just bullies me like no other. In the last 2.5 months we’ve been hanging out almost every day, I’ve seen really bad sides of him and he has seen my most pitiful and crazy. However, he never leaves. Even when I push him away, he holds on. He reminds me of how awesome we are together and the many things we have accomplished. He reminds me that this is just a bad day and that it will get better. 6. For the bes who was with us, even in the simplest of times
Naej, remember all those times na nalulunod tayo sa kape dahil sa mga drama ko sa buhay? Kulang na lang maglagay ka ng pain relief patch sa dami ng kurot at hampas ko dahil nakita natin si crush. Sa lahat ng out of town trips, wala pang natuloy na tayong dalawa. Pero okay lang kasi kahit sa tindahan lang tayo magkape at magkwentuhan, para na tayong nagbyahe to the moon and back – Ronan
7. For the bes who will never leave us
Roughly 12 years ago, we started working in a BPO company in Makati. First job namin yon. One day before sahod, wala na kaming pera pareho. Hindi namin alam paano kami uuwi sa inuupahan naming apartment in Quezon City. Sabi ng friend ko, “Itaktak nga natin mga bag natin baka may malaglag na mga barya.” So para kaming baliw na nagtaktak ng bag at may nagkalansingang ilang tigpi-piso at limang piso. I got P7 and she got P22. Nagngitian kaming dalawa dahil makakauwi na kami. Bago mag-uwian tinext ko pa siya. Biniro ko na nauna na akong umuwi. Kaso ang reply niya, “Mukha mo. Paano ka makakauwi nasa akin ang siyete pesos mo!” Nung nag-uwian na, nakasakay naman kami ng bus. Kaso namanhid ang hita ng kaibigan ko sa bigat ko at hindi namin maitago ang mga tawa namin sa sobrang hiya dahil pinagtitinginan kaming dalawa – Catherine

Nung college kami, siya minsan nagbibigay ng pamasahe ko tsaka merienda basta wag lang ako um-absent. Tapos kahit after graduation, pag may hangout ang barkada, siya taga sagot ng food ko – Ariane
10. For the bes who brought out the best in us
I’ll be forever grateful to you for bringing out the best in me. Thank you sa pagtiyaga mo sa ugali kong topakin. Sa pagsabay sa katakawan ko, sa trip ko and sa mga kabalastugan ko. Yung alam na alam niya na may pinagdadaanan ka kahit wala kang ikuwento sa kanya. Bigla na lang magpi-PM na “Mare, mahal kita, kaya mo yan” – Nera
13. For the bes who will help us even if she’s on a date
I lost my wallet on the way to Cavite from Ortigas. It was about 9PM already. I was just about to hop on the FX when I realized it was missing. Called her up. She said she was in Makati and to take a cab going there and she’ll pay for it. Got to Makati around 10ish. Apparently, she was in the middle of a date with her boyfriend. She paid for my cab, treated me to dinner, and paid for my fare going home – Joel
14. For the bes who acts like a mother
Yung walang sawa ka naglilinis ng kalat ko at linisan ako pag umuuwi akong bangag nung mga panahong heartbroken ako tapos wala ako maalala pag gising ko. Na nagaabang ka sakin lalo na pag madaling araw na at hindi pa ako umuuwi at alam mong galing na naman ako sa barkada. Papasok ka pa ng 6AM pero uuwi ako ng 3AM. May bes ka na, may nanay ka pa! – Mae
